Cask (Drapers’ Arms (JDW), Peterborough)
6 Almost perfumey malty aroma.
4 Rich reddy brown, small tight head.
6- Odd sacchariney sweet maltiness. Rich and fruity. Hot cross buns.
3 Very smooth palate, soft carbonation, almost slick. Herbal finish, a bit odd.
11 I don’t know why, but this just isn’t gelling with me at the moment.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask conditioned - handpump - Swan & Rushes - Leicester. A dark copper coloured beer. The aroma has a hoppy marmalade character but also some sweetness and some nuts. The taste is full and flavoursome. Hops again, but there’s also a sweet hint. Quite complex really.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Canterbury Beer Festival, with SilkTork. Mid amber colour. Very fruity aroma. The initial flavour impression is sweet fruit, with a touch of dry hop coming through, but too late. Somehow, I found this beer a bit unbalanced and lacking in impact for a relatively strong beer. OK, but not particularly impressive. Cask (gravity dispense).
