2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 20, 2011
Tasted this in The Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in March 2010. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale copper in colour with a thin white head. Crisp green apples in the short aroma. Thin mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a slight note of digestive biscuit with moist raisins but this is soon lost amid the whack of hop resins booming in the metallic aftertaste. Hop resins continue to dominate the finish with a dusty astringency. An ok session bitter.

Cask conditioned at The Old Windmill, Coventry. Amber colour with white head. My final beer of the day before I had to rush away. Bitter fruit type beer almost a little sourish, cidery. Dry and bitter finish, nothing special, but ok.
