This is our tribute to the black iron that paved the way to get to the Grand Canyon. Black Iron is a high hopped, fragrant ale that is as deep and as wide as the Grand Canyon itself!

Can, extra from trade with my friend Randy in Arizona. Mess of a pour. Cloudy light orange pour with ridiculously big foamy head that fades slowly. Aroma is flowers and corn syrup. Taste is sugary sweet and fruity with lots of flowers too. Light bitterness. Not sure how they call this an IPA, way too sweet and not enough hops.

With black in the aroma I figured on a black IPA. Not the case. A standard IPa in color/aroma with a bit more malt in the boday than I really like. Mostly it’s just okay. Some late hops leave a good bitterness in the aftertaste.

Poured from can, clear and pale-golden. Light head dissipated quickly, light lacing. Pleasant aroma is floral with some pine, not very strong. Excellent taste, sweet caramel and fresh hops. Not exceptional, but very decent highly drinkable brew. ---Rated whilst imbibing

Enjoyable IPA. From a can into a tulip-style glass, pours orange with a solid line of white foamy head. Nice aroma of hops, citrus, floral. Flavor matches, but starting with malts, with a mild hoppy kick. Medium bodied.

More malty than hoppy IPA. Surprisingly good malty backbone however. Nice mouthfeel. The IPA-ness comes in more from the citrusy and floral overtones than any bitterness. This is a good introduction to the style and also for those who are not partial to them. But hopheads will be disappointed. Overall, good!! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Yellow, white head. Smells like white bread and some floral hops. Taste is a bit doughy, with some citrus notes. Thin bodied.

From the Can, Dark orange pour with a big white head. Resiny and grassy hops in the aroma, a little pine as well. Decent bitter bite. Its an ok IPA.

Kind of your generic IPA, except it comes in a12oz can. Light honey color, clear, medium head, light lacing. Aroma is hops with sweet honey malts. Flavor is just too sweet on the malts, hops are good but not tickling my tinies. Really, I am just rating this b/c my lady brought this all the way from Arizona and I should tick an Arizona beer eventually... why not this one.

Can pours yellow with almost no head. Highly carbonated. Aroma of citrus. Flavors of lemon-lime with a refreshing hop finish, which, unfortunately last only a very shorts.

12oz can. Clear golden with a small white head. Aroma of Pac NW hops, citrus, pine, floral and some light sweet malt. Flavor is balanced by sweet malt and bitter hops, no real alcohol taste. Medium to light body with average carbonation. Pretty good IPA, very drinkable.
