amber, caramel. Pretty average Amber Ale. When I think amber ale I think fat tire, for better or worse. This is like a rather light Fat Tire.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle, thanks to my father for this beer. This is a solid amber ale, chewy malts, caramel, light toasted malt notes, slight floral/fruity hop character. Clean and easy drinking amber.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 14/20
355ml bottle into a shaker glass; served cold.
Aroma: Toffee, honey, and even a little light chocolate. A little hop citrus comes through too.
Appearance: A clear, deep red, rusty body. The off-white head starts off thick and foamy, but dissipates down to a very thin cap. Nice lacing.
Taste: Malty, a little sweet maybe. Caramel. The taste is pretty mild. A little bit of hop bitterness.
Palate: Very, very light bodied, especially for an amber ale. Super short finish on malt.
Overall: Mixed feelings. It’s an easy, approachable amber, with some interesting atypical flavors, but it’s just so light bodied. Maybe some people are into that, but it just didn’t feel right for me. Nice stuff, but it could be more bold.

Can from AJ’s fine foods. Pours amber with a thin white head. Leaves a bit of lacing in the glass. Well maybe more than a bit. Not much on the nose. A bit of caramel and copper on the tongue. Finishes clean.
