COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Scotch Ale is big in flavor and rich in aroma, brewed using unique barleys including peat smoked malt from Scotland, this beer is best served in a snifter to accentuate the flavors of black cherry and raisin and the subtle smoky aroma.

Pours with no head, but has a little carbonation on the tongue. Very dark brown. Strong peat smoked aroma and flavor, kind of one-dimensional. Tastes like a homebrew, albeit a well made one. Too smokey, under attenuated and too expensive.

A nice scotch! Average ruby red pour w/ a big fluffy white head that leave spotty lacing. I’m a huge fan of the bold aroma that’s pretty unique compared to most scotch’s. Taste is flavorful & pretty complex but the palate is slightly thin. Overall, a very solid beer!

On tap in September at Stapleton Tap House. Pours near black with significant head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee. Moderate carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of roasted malts, powder sugar, mild coffee. Overall full bodied, tasty...an easy drinker!

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a red tinge, tan head that laces and stays on the edges. Smells of smoke, peat, caramel, and light fruit notes. Flavor is roasted malt, caramel, light fruit, and a light bitter finish. Medium bodied.

The smokey aroma on this really jumps out. I feel bad because I always miss these subtle flavors until I read other reviews and go, "Oh, that's what that is." The molasses does stand out, along with the black cherry. This is a really tasty beer, hopefully I see it around more often. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish red pour with thin to no head, aroma brought notes of lots of peat, smoke, some slight raisin, dark fruit, touch of caramel, dark candied sugars. Taste is a mix of smoke, peat, but pretty tame compared to the taste, hints of raisin, slight burnt malts, hints of ashy notes going into burnt sugars, finishing earthy, dry.

My favorite scotch ale. Smoky aroma. Peat and dark fruit taste. Pours dark. Great on a cool day.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with minimal light tan head. No lacing. Aroma is scotch, sweet, slight peated/smoked malt. Flavor is sweet scotch, peated malt and mildly fruity up front fading into a malty, mildly smoked finish. Slight bitter that lingers. Flavor is fairly one dimensional but pleasant. Does a reasonably good job masking alcohol. Soft carbonation, medium body, and smooth texture. Was pleasantly surprised by this, as I am not a big fan of scotch ales. Fairly strong and flavorful, a good beer.

12 oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors, Fort Collins. Nose is dark fruit with a little toffee and smoke. Clear brown with a small beige head. Flavor is sweet and smoky with a lightly bitter background.
