Hazy amber pour - nose is very malt forward, with quite a bit of caramel and toffee - quite estery in the nose as well - some earthy hops and toasted grains - something is off in the flavor - there is some mild acidity and oxidation - outside of this, this is a very malt ale - quite sweet, with a lot of caramel, cherry - the hops are present, but taste stale, and site far behind the malt - doughy - acidic on the back end - we might have the early onset of an infection here.

12oz bottle picked up at Total Beverage
Pours cloudy orange with a small white head, light spotty lacing. Aroma of dusty caramel and pine. Flavors of sweet dusty caramel, earthy and pine
Too malty and sweet for me, bitter pine.

7% and 99 IBUís makes this beer a hop loverís dream! Nice and cloudy pour with a great aroma. Only thing that would make this beer better is if it were more accessible. Donít see it often enough in my local area (Boulder/Longmont) but when I do a 6 pack comes home with me!

Tap at Grand Lake. Thoroughly underwhelming. Light pine, lots of caramel in the nose. Sweet body, sticky biscuit (ewwww), sap. Blech.

12 oz bottle pours amber with a bit of a white head. Citrus and pine on the aroma, but not very strong, with some cardboard. Flavor is the same. A bit undercarbed and slightly oxidized.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, frothy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is fragrant floral, citrus, and pine hops, cookie and biscuit malt with tropical fruity esters. Flavor is heavy hops and moderate bitterness, malt sweetness, and fruity esters with a dry and spicy finish. Medium body and carbonation.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark amber, lots of carbonation, and head was pretty small and disappeared fast. Lacing is almost non existent. Rather surprised since Ipas are known for their awesome lacing.
First smells are of caramel malts and some diacetyls. Next comes some earthy hops with hints of fresh pine. No alcohol detected
Taste is a mix of the earthy hops with some bready malts contrasting them. Not over the top bitter, this is almost a balanced beer but the hops do leave a piney aftertaste. For 7% abv, alcohol is well hidden.
Mouthfeel is disappointing. Head died immediately, leaving much to be desired. Body was good, medium-bodied with a good amount of carbonation.
Overall this beer was barely above average. Flavors were good, which is obviously most important, but appearance/smell/mouthfeel were all off point and kinda made the beer sloppy tasting. Yes, I just made up the phrase sloppy tasting. Only reason beer gets a 3.5 overall is because of the smoothness of the finish in relation to alcohol percentage. Would order again if my choices were severely limited but luckily in Colorado I never have that problem

Gorgeous copper pour. Hoppy aroma with an alcohol note. Flavor is caramel, bitter hops and a note of fuel. Almost stellar.

Pours hazy dark orange with white head, aroma has some nice orange and pine, touch of caramel and biscuit as well. Taste is pretty subdued, but notes of pine and citrus go to a sweet biscuit and caramel middle, slightly bitters at the end.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Tasted from a 12 oz bottle purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Fairly clear burnt orange appearance with an off brown head. Piney hoppy aroma. Pale malty body with a tangy, piney hop flavor. Finish is like juniper as is the aftertaste.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Sampled on 9/13/2010. This IPA pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz bottle. A very small white foamy head with decent lacing and no retention. The aroma is caramel malt, tea with some hops. A medium bodied IPA. The malts are caramel and sweet, with a very strong ice tea presence. The hops are very slightly herbal. A touch medicinal tasting. Almost no carbonation. Kind of a herbal mess at the end. Might be a bottling problem, but this particular bottle is neigh on undrinkable. Drain pour. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean. Aftertaste is bitter and herbal.
