omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 17, 2008 Bottled, thanks Crosling! Clear dark ruby, minimal head. Aroma of swetay grapefruit and estery pineapple. Sweet and full bodied. Fruity and thick, very malty with some apricot and evident peppery alcohol. A well crafted barleywine that lacks some personality. JMFG (1140), Florida, USA Jul 11, 2008 Nice rich-looking copper-brown color with a thin layer of white head that dissipates. Robust malty aroma mixed with peppery hops. Hop character translates well to the taste, being peppery and malty, but not hot. A decent barleywine. BeerandBlues2 (2473), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Jul 3, 2008 12-oz bottle purchased at Liquor Max in Loveland, CO. Pours clear mahogany with a small, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with fair lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, caramel), heavy hops (perfume, flowers, citrus), average yeast (dough) with notes of dates, toffee, apple, and brown sugar. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, heavy acidity and bitterness. desurfer (1034), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Tap at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a rich mahogany with a beige head. Aroma is high on fruity malts and hops. Flavor more of the same with a good dose of alcohol warmth as well. Very drinkable and tasty.
