Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle: Medium amber hue; very thin head. Mouthfeel is smooth and fairly easy to drink; light carbonation. Light sweetness (Boston baked beans, toffee, buttered toast). Healthy hoppy bitterness (grass, flowers, tree sap) with a bit of sourness (grapefruit zing, orange rind). Somewhat bold for the style, but not bad. desurfer (1024), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Tap at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a light reddish brown with no head. Aroma is sweet and mildly hoppy. More hoppiness in the flavor, with some doughy malts to balance it out. Pretty good. RSRIZZO (950), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA Sep 25, 2007 Had this beer on 6/22/2006. Aroma is rich with a sweet roasted malt scent and fresh hops. Color is a light brown with light carbonation and thin tight head. Taste is full of flavor from malty richness to a fresh happiness. Starting with medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish burst out at you with a roasted malt flavor followed by fresh hops and a nice bitterness. It seems a bit hoppy for an Amber, but I love this beer. luckygirl (1212), Longmont, Colorado, USA Jul 6, 2007 Draught at Falling Rock. Beer is clear, medium/dark red-brown with a small, frothy, beige, mostly diminishing head.
The aroma is malty with a moderate note of toasted grain, light note of biscuit and a trace of caramel; Hoppy with a light/moderate note of resin/pine, light dried apricot; Miscellaneous note of generic fruit.
The flavor is moderate/heavily sweet, lightly bitter, light/moderate acidic with a long, moderately sweet, lightly acidic finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Not very engaging, but not bad. Ernest (4186), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jun 30, 2007 Draught, Falling Rock. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted/roasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), lightly to moderately yeasty (dough), with a light note of smoke. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Decent enough, the light smoky note helps the aroma (which suffers from a lot of raw yeastiness). Good enough balance as well. Nothing great, but ok.
