COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our English brown ale. A mild bodied beer that is dark in color, while at the same time full of flavor. A wonderfully drinkable beer, with slight toffee, nutty and caramel flavors. Let the honey like malt flavor lure you in.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a pale beige thin short lived head, with some lacing, over a clear light reddish brown (SRM 20) body.....nose is hazel nut, bit of coffee, with a bit of toffee and caramel, along with minimal grassy hop....taste is light roasted malts, with a bit of toffee, finishing with a light spicy hop bitterness, it is dry throughout.....mouth feel is light, carbonation adds a spritz on the tongue. This fits reasonably closely the Northern type of English Brown Ales. It does not have quite the depth of some of the others in the genre. BJCP 7/2/12/4/7

Mildly nutty aroma. Nice clear dark red-brown color. Almost no head out of the bottle, but not flat. Medium bodied with some lingering roasty cereal notes.

Pours a clear copper with reasonable light-tan head. Caramel, nutty aromas but the taste is slightly less so and the palate is disappointingly thin. Clean finish.

12 oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors, Fort Collins. Nose is lots of hazelnuts with a very slight vanilla note mixed with some caramel. Clear rusty brown with a small beige head. Flavor is caramel and nuts and just a hint of smoky char.

Pours a small 1/4 inch creme colored head. Body is a dark brown with auburn red highlights. Head retention was average and so was lacing. First smell is sweet, almost like coca cola mixed in with caramel malts. Next is some rye bready malt and some figs/raisins. Hops and alcohol aren’t detected. Taste is of chalky roasted malt and some semi tart prunes/raisins. Hops are very faint and alcohol is not present. Beer has a slight aftertaste of oxidation/soy sauce. Mouthfeel is well carbonated and light bodied but not watery. Head dissipated rather quickly and failed to contribute any substance to the beer. Overall this beer was average, typical for the style, somewhat bland. Could drink acouple of these but after half a glass I became bored and was ready to move on to something else.
