3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 PorterPounder (4112) - Tallahassee, USA - JUL 27, 2011
Grand Lake, Co. - on tap - Sagebrush BBQ. Pours a deep dark brown, medium thick khaki colored head. Sweet aroma, some chocolate and nuttiness. Flavor is sweet as well, dominated by nutty flavor, some brown sugar and a hint of toffee. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Good companion to the venison, elk and wild boar sausage I had for dinner.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Angelmonster (86) - Colorado, USA - DEC 19, 2011
Pours a small 1/4 inch creme colored head. Body is a dark brown with auburn red highlights. Head retention was average and so was lacing.
First smell is sweet, almost like coca cola mixed in with caramel malts. Next is some rye bready malt and some figs/raisins. Hops and alcohol aren’t detected.
Taste is of chalky roasted malt and some semi tart prunes/raisins. Hops are very faint and alcohol is not present. Beer has a slight aftertaste of oxidation/soy sauce.
Mouthfeel is well carbonated and light bodied but not watery. Head dissipated rather quickly and failed to contribute any substance to the beer.
Overall this beer was average, typical for the style, somewhat bland. Could drink acouple of these but after half a glass I became bored and was ready to move on to something else.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 arminjewell (3113) - Parker, Colorado, USA - SEP 26, 2011
Poured dark reddish brown with thin off white head from bottle, aroma had notes of sweet toffee, molasses, some roasted grain notes, slightly acidic, but even more caramel in there. Taste is a bit bitter, but still very sweet and one dimensional, with some caramel and toffee, some slight bread, maybe a touch of roast, with a slightly dry, sweet finish.

Dark brown pour. Sweet toffee, raisin bread, light cocoa. Flavor is sweet malts, not much hops to speak of. On tap at Sagebrush in Grand Lake.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 onceblind (1623) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAY 6, 2011
Poured out a weird cola brown with very very little head, didn’t last long either. Aroma was pretty swell, with notes of caramel, brownish chocolate malt, and some slight nuttiness. Too bad the taste was kinda flat. Unexciting tones of stale caramel, brown malt, and some walnut. Odd bitterness at end, and off-sweet. Light bodied. Just an average, or mediocre Brown Ale.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Atom (689) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - APR 16, 2011

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 adnielsen (3762) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - DEC 17, 2010
Tasted from a 12 oz bottle purchased in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dark reddish brown appearance with a white/brown head. Brown, slightly skunky, and slightly nutty aroma with a little caramel. Kind of a weird nutty flavor in the brown malty body. Overall just kind of a weird unknown flavor.
1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 tennessejed420 (865) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2010
bottle. Pours dark red instead of brown with no head. Sweet aroma, bubblegum, along with toffee. Flavor almost has a sort of cherry cola flavor to it, hardly tastes like beer. Is this a bad bottle or something? I don’t think so... I didn’t have high expectations for this one but damn, it’s pretty bad. This will be the first beer I drainpour.
