6 oz Bottle. Cedar bark and earth salts. Deep black and tan pour. Sound coffee with tart, dry chocolate. There’s definite lactic presence, but it’s clear and clean and adds an interesting throwback to old time wood aging. Dry. Interesting. Lots of coffee and heavy roast, but stays away from char and burnt. What works best is the lactic acidity and the coffee flavors. A nice pairing. Smacks on hazlenut brew. Fresh grounds. Bits of honey. Nice! Thanks Sean!

Had this at the brewery. Color was black with absolutely no head. Couldn’t smell much, the non-existent head didn’t help that. Flavor was not very strong at all. Roasty, very light coffee and chocolate, with some lasting sweetness. Overall, fairly thin and unimpressive.

2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing...waited at least ten minutes to get to the front of this line, only to find out (as Silphium notes) that the line was for Founders..LOL...this wasnt bad however...roasted malts, with chocolate and light coffee (with the complementary bourbon touch)...somewhat wimpy however, from the obviously wimpy brewer

Rating #1600.
Sampled at the 2nd annual Michigan Winter Beer Festival, Lansing. This booth was tough to get to, but the line was for Founders...not too much to get excited about here. Chocolatey and roasty, light bourbon flavors, and alcohol. A very thin, wispy Imperial Stout. Quick finish with little heft. Not at all impressed.
