Silphium (2028), Lansing, Michigan, USA Dec 20, 2004 On tap at GRBC. Deep brown body, thin clumping tan head with shades of dingy gray. Dry slightly acrid roast aroma with sharply metallic grain notes. Plenty of dry roast in the flavor with bitter dark chocolate providing the rest. A bit sharp on the tongue, finishing with a suggestion of spicy rye and the slightest hint of fruit, but these essences were slight. bubslang (435), Kentwood, Michigan, USA Jan 28, 2003 dark brown with a nice brown head, aroma is chocolate malt with hint of rye, mouthfeel was quite thin and chololate malt flavor was not as roasty as I like my stouts to be, nice hints of rye, but overall it is just to thin and weak tasting to be a real good stout
