Tasted 4/27/08. Sampler from the brewpub. Dark as pitch with a brown hue. Toffee and coffee in the nose. Touch burnt. Medium bodied with a nice roasty grainy fruity flavor. Sticky and bitter. Dry finish. Nutty with a hint of molassis. Tasty.

Jul 21, 2008 (Sampled 7-5-08 at brewery from sampler) Midnight black in color, non transparent when held to the sun. Roasted malt with coffee and dark molasses in the background according to my old sniffer. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt comes through nicely in translation, very light on the tongue, some caramel and walnuts on the finish. The wife had a snort and compared it to a Guinness Light- I would have to concure with her observations. To be honest, that’s not a bad thing either...

Jan 27, 2007 Pours black with a cream head. Roasted caramel is most noticeable in the aroma. It tastes sickly sweet followed by a dark roast aftertaste.

Sep 30, 2006 Draft at brewpub. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Medium body with a smooth texture. Medium balanced bittersweet flavor with a medium bitter finish of moderate duration.
