UPDATED: OCT 2, 2013 Mild nut, fruit and coffee flavours. Pours deep brown with a very thin had. A little thin but still a very nice beer.

(Bottle) Pours very dark brown - clear with ruby highlights when held to light - and a fair tan head. Pleasant, gentle aroma - roast malt, notes of vanilla. Medium body, good bright carbonation. Taste is good but rather thin. Sweet dark malts have a cola character, albeit richer and more complex. Very drinkable.

From bottle in porter glass. Looks a bit like cola with a one finger head. Roasted malts impart a smokey quality to the taste thatís unique amongst the many stouts Iíve sampled over the years.

Malty bouquet. Pours black with clingy head. Upfront malt followed by chocolate and a warm slightly bitter finish. Too malty for a stout ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle into pint glass. íServe at cellar temperatureí OK, I donít have a cellar but itís 30 degrees Celsius inside today, so 10 minutes in the freezer. Sweet dark chocolate nose. Totally impenetrable black beer with large solid tan head. Body is surprisingly light, even spritzy on the tongue. Ending with bitter cocoa. Slightly lingering. A bit light on for my taste but OK.

Thin and sweet, tastes like roasted coffee flavoured coca cola. Pitch black colour and nice aroma.

From the previous ratings I was expecting a little more from this. The body is quite thin and watery for a stout. The typical chocolate and coffee notes donít seem to quite translate and the flavour of darkly roasted barley seems predominant. A decent tan head and good carbonation. Slight plum and smokey coffee aroma

Poured a dark cola brown colour with mahogany tints. Thin light tan bubbles make up the head. Lacing virtually nil. Aroma of sweet vanilla and a subtle trace of roasted grain. Tasted strongly of roasted grain, had a trace of smokiness and low level bitterness. Light body, a bit watery than I was hoping for. Sweet with a long rough roasted grain finish. Average.

This beer is ok. I probably wonít be getting it, but if a friend offered it to me I wouldnít say no either.
