3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours opaque deep cola brown with smallish light tan head. Aromas of herbal, citrus hops, light chocolate, cream, roast, nutty malt character and toffee. Light medium body, creamy mouthfeel, balanced character, light chocolate, coffee, herbal grassy hop character lingering with a light toasty sweetness, semi sweet through the finish.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
330ml bottle. Pours dark cola colour with very thin head. Roasted barley immediately hits the nose, followed by chocolate and hints of coffee. Thinner bodied than most stouts, similar to a porter. Starts off a little sweet on the tongue, but has a bitter finish. This one is pleasant, but not special.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Another disappointment. Worst-looking stout ever. Muddy brown, with hardly any head, it could have been filled from a flooded Berrys Creek. Aromas are chocolate and hazelnut, not bad, but not enticing either. Flavours go all over the place, with chocolates, coffee, nutella, smokiness and the muddy, gritty texture. And itís watery muddy. Thereís no full body or creaminess there. No good. The aftertaste just told me that this was a mistake. Thereís better stout on the store.

Bottle. [thanks bluebetty]
Deep brown, bordering on black. Small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is mild sweet, quite a bit of tartish berry, roasted malts, light chocolate. Medium, quite prickly carbonation, dry and light mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet at first, chocolate, softly fruity, then turns roasted and dry. Nice malty bitter finish where it almost feels a bit smoky. Shame that the prickliness of the carbonation kinda limits the experience.

Thereís a lovely roasty aroma of chocolate, coffee, biscuits and a little liqueur. The taste is more hoppy than expected, with some grapefruit under the taste of coffee beans and smoke. Pleasant, but not a ripper.

On tap at the brewery. Served a black color with a bit of red around the edges. Good tan head that faces to nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and some dark fruit. Taste of roasted malt, some coffee and dark chocolate with a bit of nuts in the background. Medium body, smooth and nicely balanced. Just a bit on the sweet side. Nice beer for the style, nothing fancy.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
A-- Poured and settled a reddish black color. A little bit of red at the bottom of the glass. Just under one finger in a mocha colored head with sponge like lacing on the sides of the glass. Good head retention and shows medium carbonation.
S-- Roasted malts, coffee and some bittering or baking chocolate. Very sweet smelling. First thought was coco puffs. Smells closer to a sweet stout.
T-- Very sweet first taste. Still reminds me more of a sweet stout or possibly a milk stout, though not as smooth. Sweet chocolate, roasted malts also in the taste. Just a bit of coffee in the taste.
M-- Very sweet. Sugary taste lingers in the mouth and in the finish. A little bit of bittering chocolate and coffee to add something different but quite sweet. Coffee does come out more when at room temperature. Lower medium in carbonation. Not heavy at all. More light and sweet. Just needs milk and it would be coco puffs.
D-- Reasonable and workable.

From a 330ml bottle on 18/7/2012. Pours a very dark brown with a medium head. Has a slight chocolate malt aroma. Flavour wise, itís got a good dose of chocolate and caramel malt, with sweetness well balanced against the roasty bitterness. Just a really solid, enjoyable stout. Comes across bigger than 4.9%.

3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Off tap at deja vu, pours black with red amber highlights. Quickly fading white head. Burnt toast and coffee on the nose. Coffee and toast prevailing flavours, but not overwhelming, over notes of soy sauce and malt sweetness. An easy dryness all the way through, very long nice finish of bitterness. Standard stout mouth feel.
