A true connoisseurs beer best sipped after dinner not too cold. Try with a dash of lemonade for Australia’s finest shandy or simply serve straight with a chunk of blue or some rich plum pudding or mud cake with a burnt caramel sauce. YUMM!! If you are really feeling lavish marinate some Eye fillet with ginger, garlic and moonshine for 3 days then cook blue or rare for best results.

UPDATED: OCT 8, 2013 Not a bad tasting beer. Pretty nice flavour and nice taste that is left in your mouth afterwards. I like it.

I’ve walked past this beer for years on the dan murphys shelves, so I thought I’ll buy one and give it a go. Poured the beer into a snifter glass, roasted aromas of coffee, chestnuts and chocolate, flavours to match, perfect beer on a mild Brisbane winter evening

Oh yeah! Great beer if you like malt and sweetness. Great example of this kind of ale - in fact best of style I have had the privilege to try. Will be purchasing again. But only in Winter :-)

Amazing beer. Complex sweet and rich flavour, long finish, absolutely delicious. Only down side is that it is expensive!

It pours dark hazy brown, thin head that lightly retains. It has a strong aroma, sweet, caramel, brown sugar, maple syrup. It has a sweet, syrup taste, quite strong bitterness with a long bitter finish, fantastic beer.

330ml bottle. Pours a mid brown colour with a hint of ruby. Dense beige head which gradually settled and left lace rings down the glass. Aroma of prunes, molasses and burnt malt. Quite a sweet taste which develops into a touch of bitterness. Medium bodied with a syrupy mouthfeel and a gentle alcoholic warmth. OK but a little too syrupy for my liking.

330ml bottle, pours dark red, with light head retention. Big malty aroma that follows through onto the palate, with a big sweet finish.

From a 33 cl bottle shared in Sydney. Pours a hazy cola brown with an ecru head. Caramel nose. Flavors of toffee, caramel and butterscotch. Medium bodied, light carbonation, smooth sweet finish.

Deep brown pour with minimal head. Big caramel, boozy orange liqueur aromas. Taste is caramel, dried fruits, dark toffee, and alcohol warmth; oily, thick, really nice mouthfeel,

Bottle- thanks Brew. Rich dark body, big rough head. Sweet aromas of plums, golden syrup, malt and toffee. Body is smooth, slightly sticky. Nice bit of burnt toffee and smoke to balance the fruity plum and caramel flavours. Had this at just the right temperature in just the right glass, and it was a true delight.
