2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The name reminds me more of shoepolish than of beer - but I took a chance and sampled it anyways. The beer is dark amber with next to no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of alcohol and prunes. The flavor is sweet with notes of over ripe fruit and a slight acidity.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bright burgundy-brown. Earthy, blackberryish malt aroma. The palate is malty - not as rich as the 11% abv would suggest, though. In keeping with the Aussie tradition, it’s pretty restrained. The palate is malty with hints of nuts and dark fruit, but not much alcohol. Drinkable, but aside from the light character it’s not especially distinctive.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Way too expensive, but since it was probably the strongest beer in Oz, I picked up a bottle. DArk brown beer, thin white head. Sweet vineous aroma, slightly floral and a bit of tropical fruit from the hops. Chewy brown sugar, toffee, and caramel malts. Low bitterness. Won’t improve with time, and really struck me as a pretty timid barleywine. Drinks very easy though.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Bottle. Ruby colour with a off-white head. Malty light raisin, moldy aroma and a sweet extreme metallic taste. Medium body with a sweet metallic finish. This beer must have been rusty barrel aged barley wine.
