Hazy brown color, tan head. Sweet, malty, caramel scent. Malty, caramel, toffee taste. Toffee aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Pours a very dark copper colour with a thin wisp of light white foam gracing the top. Strong aroma of caramel and toffee which is very pleasant. The flavour is okay with good body and mouthfeel. Light on the palate and very drinkable.

From a 330ml bottle on 17/2/2012. Pours a light amber with a smallish head. Has a malty, bready aroma with some basement like notes. The flavour is very malty, withn lots of sweet caramel and a little spice. This is offset by a nice medium hop bitterness. While it won’t necessarily blow your hair back, it’s a nicely put together vienna.

Bottle. Pours a deep copper with only the smallest of white heads. Aromas are dominated by some rich malt sweetness. Some yeast shows through with some earthy spiciness. Flavours are much the same with plenty of sweet caramel. Slightly odd spicy finish. Medium mouthfeel. Not too bad.

Pours copper with ruby tints and a small densely packed head.
Nose shows spicy, toasty malt, caramel and nutty notes. Very enticing.
Similar flavours, quite malty, but with the spicy, toasty rye really standing out amongst the sweet caramel and possible melanoidin malt.
Nice creamy carbonation suits the beer well.

On tap at the Spencer Hotel. Delicious malt-driven beer. Aromas of caramel and grain, with a hint of cola. Taste is sweet, with bitter notes, and average length. Palate is velvety, and medium bodied. Amber, with a frothy head.

Bottle. Darkish amber with a thin beige head that vanishes quickly. Aroma of toffee, earth, peppery spices. Lots of toffee in the taste, but it’s not all that sweet. Earthy bread and spices, a touch of vinegar. Quite rich but the spicy dry finish keeps it refreshing.

Another very good limited release that puts GR well and truly on the path to redemption. Dark orange / copper with a non-existent head. Big nose of funky earthy malts and some caramel sweetness. The latter carries through to the palate but there’s enough hap impact, albeit relatively mild, to keep the beer on course.
