Pale golden pour. The aroma is light and a bit fruity. Sort of lightly grainy and a bit zesty. There is a touch of noble flavour as well. Well- balanced and clean. There is a bit of crackery malt character and some herbal spiciness. Actually, a great kolsch.

Hot damn, another GR winner. Its a foamy white cap over coppery pale clear gold. Crisp and lightly fruity taste, really great feel.Gentle but complete aromas of malt and fruit.

multiple samples at the grand river 3rd anniversary. clear light yellow with a frothy white head. aroma of crisp malts and noble hopping. tight structured flavour. nice progression from the lean malt body to the balanced hop finish. a session beer made to session. great example of the style.

nice brew here, really tasty and light session brew, slight adjunct taste, excellent refreshing balance of cereal like malts and light noble/hallerteau style hops. good stuff, i might try some more kolsches now!~

On tap at GR’s 3rd Anniversary tasting. Taps a nice pale gold with a large white head. The aroma has the great biscuity malt quality I’d expect from this brewery, with some minor hop presence. Flavour was very refreshing as the first beer of the tasting on a hot summer evening. Good malt biscuit quality, similar to their Hannenberg Pils, with some dryness in the finish coming from the hops, without seeming too metallic. Minor booze presence in the aftertaste (abv apparently could have ended up significantly higher than expected). Slightly gritty, good but would be superb with more time in the cold conditioning tanks like a good Kolsch should go through. Just a bit rough around the edges, but with some more tweaking this will be something truly special.

Solid very easy drinking beer. Golden with big white head minimal lacing. Mild aroma biscuit, sweet malt, grass, and light fruitiness not sure what. Little fruity, malty, very mild grassy bitterness with a medium crisp body. Mild flavor but drinkability is very high.

At Food & Drink Fest Hamilton. Grassy and earthy notes in the aroma and taste is great. Very smooth and drinkable.

Bottle: Pours a deep burnished gold ale in the glass. Rocky white 2 finger cap. Aroma is mild but there is sufficient bready-biscuity cereal tones and a light fruitiness like apple or pear. Flavor is simple but satisfying - pale malts dominate the front. then a spicey-earthy Perle hop bite joins a demure apple pear fruit tone in balancing the malts. Finish is clean slightly dry and spritzy with a biscuit-herb end. I’m not sure how this beer was given the moniker of a "Kolsch" as it is clearly too divergent from that narrow style... but it is a well made and tasty cold conditioned golden ale with a German character to it via the Pearle hopping. Altogether a very pleasant easy drinking sessioning beer....they should sell tons of this on draft.

This kolsch poured a crystal clear, medium yellow colour with a bright white, foamy head. To the nose there are scents of creamed corn, dough/bread, light cheese and cream. First swig was smooth and somewhat creamy with flavours of corn and a very suttle hop flavour that leaves a very light bitterness until later when the hop flavour kicks in a minute after you swallow. Very nice to see they calmed the bitter hopp flavour down in some of their beer.

Bottle: Poured a lightly hazy golden color Kolsch with a nice medium foamy head with OK retention and some good lacing. Aroma of cereal and grain is quite dominant with light sweet undertones. Taste is also a mix of clean cereal notes with light grainy notes with light residual sugar notes. Body is quite full with good carbonation. Not my favourite style but well brewed and easily drinkable.
