3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle thanks to Matt7215. Pours a cloudy orange with thick white head. Aroma surprisingly light on hops, strong malt, and a bit of spice. Flavor is a bit uncharacteristic, but pleasant. I canít quite put my finger on these Grand Rivers, but they have this earthy, semi-metallic (but pleasant) taste, and this one is no different. Fits this style a little better than others, quite nice in the end.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask at Morganís on the Danforth. Poured deep amber, cloudy, with large white head. Taste hoppy with citrus accents. Sweetish finish, not harshly bitter like others in this style. Lovely soft mouthfeel. Quite liked this beer. Good accompaniment to fish and chips meal.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 ml. British style IPA, thanks Matt7215 for sending a bunch overnight. Giant stubby bottle. I liked this because it was smooth and rather mild tasting, fine for its style. Hop bubble, though rather neutral to look at, to smell. Satisfying, toned down typical Grand River bitter taste, though its still there.

2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Very hazy rusty pour with quite a bit of head. Doesnít smell like an IPA at all. Very weak scent. Much more front loaded than most IPAs Iíve tried (which is far too many). Thereís some really nice sweeter hops in there before the bitterness takes over. The finish is particularly harsh. Starts off nice but finishes poorly for me.
Note: I donít generally like IPAs.

3.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500 mL Bottle. Amber body with an off-white foamy head settling to a foamy film leaving lots of spotty lace. Sweet light malts, floral notes, hints of pear and honey, and resiny hops make up the bouquet. Light malts and a hint of crystal malt dominate, a butterscotch aftertaste, and a lingering grapefruit rind finish. If you like this style...

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear copper colour with 1 finger head, fading to a thin film with some lacing. Aroma is biscuit and caramel malt with a little grassy hops. Medium bodied and flat, the taste is briefly sweet caramel with a looong, dry soda cracker sour finish, and a little indistinct hops.

Seeing that Iím the biggest mofo curmudgeon in the building it only makes sense that I slap down my shells for it. Body is fiery like Ann Margaretís hair but head is 1/4 inch Kate Moss cocaine thin. Not an American style IPA & not the typical southern Ontario swamp water & thatís why I like it.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap @ Wellington Gastropub Ottawa. Pours a dark clear amber with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aromas are earthy malt, icing sugar, and biscuit. Tastes are biscuit, caramel, and a light hop profile. Light body, medium carbonation and a short and mild bitter finish. This is not an IPA, it is an ESB but quite sessionable.

Damn, this is an old school IPA, baby. Nice roasted and smoky flavors blend together well with the slight bitterness, very cohesive.A good amount of residual sweetness though, it is quite full-bodied. Light english hop aroma, everything in balance. Very nice.
