Commercial Description:
The Galt Knife Old Style is a variation of a beer style that was popular in the region in the late 1800's in breweries like Rock Springs from Preston and Western Steam in Strathroy. Malty body balanced with a generous amount of floral hops.

Dark amber colour with small white head. Caramel malty aroma with slight lingering hops. Flavour is equally complimenting to the aroma with an added bready flavour. Boarders the line between being watery and medium.

Sweet malt nose, deep amber, small firm white head. Bitter taste, some decent malt backing, biscuity. Light bodied, crisp, clean, sweet, bitter and balanced. Very nice. Thanks R.

On tap at Magpie - came a clear deep straw gold with a clear white head that left a coat of lace all down the glass. Biscuity, grainy aroma, with fresh bread and some fruity hops evident as well. Flavours are quite complex with sweet malt balancing perfectly with a bitter hop finish. Thick in the mouth. Very hoppy lager, as it should be. THE BEST lager available in Ontario, period. I’d take this over the (oft compared to) Brooklyn lager anyday. A much more balanced package. Superb.

Draught at The Victory Cafe. Pours a clear golden-orange with an average size diminishing white head. Mild aroma of light fruit, a little bready, some grain, malt and hops. Loses a point for being so mild, making it hard to discern what’s going on. Flavour starts with fruit followed by grain, caramel malt, a decent amount of hops and a quite bitter finish -- this is pretty tasty for a Lager, I’m impressed! Medium bodied. I must say, I’m surprised how good this is, especially for a Lager, well done!

Draught at Victory Cafe. Yellow with a good white head and some lace. Neutral aroma, with some hop. Served just right at cellar-like temperature. Very easy drinking, the caronation was above average and kicked in with bitterness at the end, and this still did not detract. medium mouthfeel, and a good drinkability for a lager.

Draught at Victory Cafe. Dark golden-copper with a small white head. Aroma is mild, fairly sweet, with herbal/floral hops around the edges. Flavour is pleasant, good hop character with a solid malt backing. The comparisons I’ve seen to Brooklyn Lager are somewhat accurate, although I don’t think it’s quite as assertive. Still a pretty fine lager, though.

copper hue with off white head, it has mildly sweet aroma with note of caramel. while the flavor is very caramelly for a lager, it is well balanced, a nice summer drink.

Growler
Appearance :Clear copper look with medium fine top.
Nose :Full of high alpha hops , citric with hint of sweet mango, slight earthy sides.
Flavour/Palate: Fairly light bodied . Malt base is totally covered with green, wet hops. Recommended to taste as last beer of session coz it will kill your palate.
