A bit of colour, San Francisco yeast, bubbles.Good bitterness and malt on top of the already naturally bitter hard water of the area.Hallenteau hops and German malts. Sampled at the brewery
On tap at The Winking Judge with the Grand River Brewing owner Robert Hannenberg. First sample had pleasant aroma that none of us including Bill the judge identify, though there is some ppper. Second pint was totally neutral. yellowish with dissipitating white foam. Some citrus and the constant Grand River bitterness. The unfiltered pre-edition was a bit more interesting and complex in fruit that Robert puts down to apricot. This would be great on cask.

Jun 27, 2008 Growler. Nice golden yellow, with a thin white frothy head. Citrus, grassy and floral aroma. witj a strong biscuit flavour. Very crisp and enjoyable. Very good summer beer!

Jun 16, 2008 Sampled at Brewery. Really fresh, clean taste with straw and citrus notes. I don’t normally like a fizzy beer, but this one worked well. This is may well be the best summer beer I’ve tasted.

Appearance: Mild golden appearance with fine medium, fairly creamy top , some lace noted. 3+
Nose : Sweet , grainy front with fruity hop backing..
Flavor/Palate : medium bodied with lighter palate. Slightly sour , grainy hints up front followed by dry hay. To much of fruity bitterness on palate to be true helles yet not nearly enough of hop profile for pils. Malty softness was proper to intended style. Brew that grows on you the more you drink, that’s good. Currently with this batch I would classify under premium lager category.12+/20

May 19, 2008 2008-05-10. Crisp golden yellow body with a small white head and light lacing. (3+) Interesting aroma, light grassy floral hops with allusions to fruit. (6+) Flavour has a similar hop spectrum, light grass, straw and floral with modest not quite fruit aromas - perhaps citric hops? (6+) Palate is slightly fuller bodied than average. (3+) Well made, pleasant, but I would personally reach for one of the breweries other offerings first. On tap at Volo

May 16, 2008 Draught at Volo. Clear bright gold with a small white head. Aroma is quite fruity at first, but then some fresh grainy malt comes through, with floral hops around the edges. Medium bodied. Flavour is very fresh with a good balance of fruity malt and mellow herbal hops. Very clean and refreshing, and quite quaffable - a perfect summer beer, really.
