2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
473ml bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange and a small off white head. Aroma is allspice and a little clove. Flavour is at first pumpkin pie spices and more cloves this time. The pumpkin shows up a little later along with a hint of malt. Body is medium. The finish has more pumpkin with a lingering cinnamon flavour.

Way too much nutmeg. Weak body. Not the best pumpkin ale iíve ever had. Not worth 4$ a pint at the LCBO.

Trying out a new burger joint: Mano Burger Bar.
Ends up that they have a craft beer menu. Even better it has two beers on it I havenít tried.
This is the first Highballer Pumpkin Ale by Grand River Brewing.
Just slightly hazy yellow/orange pour with a foamy head. Weak scent. Some hops and just a bit of pumpkin. I expected more. Nice light taste. Hoppy with quite a bit of pumpkin taste followed by just a bit of bitterness. Some good ale qualities, just a touch of caramel.
Really digging this.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Scents of dough, pumpkin, and cinnamon. Clear orange colour with a minimal head. Slight sweetness with mild bitterness; malty on the tongue with slight pumpkin flavour. A decent beer, but a bit of a let-down with the lack of festive flavours.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
2013/09/14 - Pours a clear, burnt orange/amber colour with a soapy, off white head that laces nicely. Aroma is pumpkin purée, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and vegetables. Taste is pumpkin, grass, subdued spices and an odd, ash-like flavour. Mouthfeel is medium, somewhat watery, with low to medium carbonation and an acidic aftertaste. An ok seasonal beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma: Slight acidity was picked up first along with traditional cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, fruitcake and crystallized fruits. Not sticking out very strongly.
Appearance: Orange. Looks like a pumpkin with a candle in it when looked through with light. Head looks good, creamy, generous with a nice lacing.
Taste: Attack is soft with all traditional spices of a pumpkin ale. Slightly acid, texture is watery and missing a bit of spark. Very traditional pumpkin ale with flavors working hard to stick out, but half succeeded.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clean amber colour with a frothy warm top, average retention and nice thick lacing. Nutmeg nose with hints of cinnamon. Unfortunately, the spices are pretty mild in the taste, and only the pumpkin puree (without spices) come out. Was bottles in September, so not the freshest (does not keep well, long) as a few months after, feel the sour going-bad notes. Medium-bodied with a little creaminess. Very light caramel malt appear in the aftertaste, with notes of grain. Wish I could try this fresh. Gets a little hazy near the last pour. Average pumpkin ale.
