Pour murky mahogany. Aroma quite boozy, cardamon, cinnamon, lots of spices. Taste very boozy, tons of spice, cinnamon, cardamon, some rye. MF pretty big thick body. Solid brew this was a beast.

UPDATED: MAY 6, 2011 Passable experiment. One of their five beers on the previous night, had at Grambinus. Black body wth a nice head. Sourish fancy brown beer with a dry finish. Gets bitter and drier as it warms.

Fresh growler, hand bottled from cask at the brewery. Thanks to Adil and Milos for sharing! Deep mahogany with ruby edges, pours a thin but large bubbled head. The nose has a lot of spice, mostly cardamon and cinnamon, with vanilla and rye notes. Sweet rye like flavours with lots of spice and an alcohol heft. Not all that balanced really. Sweet, quite alcoholic, with a fruity finish.

Cask at GRB’s cask tasting. Nice dark murky rubyish brown with not much head. Aroma is full of cherries, cinnamon, cardamon, booze and not much else. Flavour hits you in the face. Same elements of the aroma, spicy finish with a huge kick of alcohol. It’s almost like an amber ale with no hops and a shot of vodka in the glass. Very subtle element of nail polish which I’m extremely sensitive to. Wow. Felt extremely thick and hot. Would be good as a 30mL sample but beyond that it kind of kicks my ass too much to really enjoy. Perhaps a little bit over-board on this one I’m afraid to say.
