Smell of hops. Strong hops and sharp bitter barley taste. Pours amber with a decently lasting head and little tracing. I’d like to try this again a little fresher - it would probably be a stronger brew. There’s a hint of caramel in there and a little woodiness, too. Bottle.

500 mL bottle. Pours mahogany with a thin off white head, dies off quickly with a little lacing. Nose of black cherry, caramel, hops, chestnut and melting butter. A big beer for only 4.7%, full bodied and fairly sweet offset by roasted malt flavor and a hop bite. A little sticky on the palate with a lingering bitter finish. Liked this one a lot.

500ml bottle. Intense amber body, almost wine like, medium creamy yellowish head. Aroma is a delight, bready sweet, hops, malt, caramel, hint of vanilla....is this a 4.7% abv? Taste is very malty, with tons of hops, almost feels like an oak barrel aged beer, piney, oily mouth-feel, dry and refreshing. Excellent.

Ah yes the plowman’s ale. This one was good. Smells of flowers, tastes plummier than your average amber ale. Nice and fresh, I hope to drink this again in the summer.

Botella, shared by Plovmand, gracias! Unclear amber brown colour. Well toasted caramel sweet aroma with toasty malt and some fruit. Good mouthfeel. Sweet flavour with toasted malt and caramel along some (dark) fruit and with a pleasant medium hoppy bitterness.

Bottle traded by TheJester. Thanks a bunch. Had this one on my short list for ages! It pours bit hazy amber with a medium off white head. The aroma is quite malty and fruity with lovely hoppy and earthy notes. Sweet hoppy flavour with notes of berries and toasted malt. Some fruity hops as well. Nice balanced and a WORLD CLASS name :)

Nice big creamy head and a clear amber body. Soft hops and malt aroma. Flavour is slight nuttiness, sweet malts, with a medium hoppy finish. This is a good one.

Bottle. Malt, grassy hops aroma. Sour hop taste. A bit acidic but passable. Never would’ve guessed this was an amber ale from what I was tasting... may need to try this one again.

From the bottle pours a clear deep reddish brown with a finger or two of pillowy head. Aromas a mix of caramel/chicory malts and fragrant tropical hops. Taste is similar, and lovely. Mild but persistent hop bitterness is there from start to finish. Sweetness starts to emerge as it warms up in your mouth. I get less hop aroma in my mouth than I did in smelling it, but it’s still there.
