Pours a deeper shade of amber, topped with long lasting off white head, leaving good lace. Gorgeous, fresh aroma of leafy, floral hops, bursting with pine essence, citrus (lemon, orange), and hints of butterscotch and cotton candy. The inviting aroma is matched by assertive floral hops, lemon zest, grass, a touch of sweet malty caramel and bubblegum. Medium body, with a very forward and enjoyable bitter finish. As with other beers from this brewer, the focus is on balance, full flavour, and lower ABV. It seems they can’t go wrong. Excellent.

Growler. Amber-brown with a medium, sticky whitish head. Aroma is sweetish, with caramel, toast, and hops. The taste is quite hoppy, with just enough malt to back it up. Nicely bitter finish. Medium body and carbonation. Kinda like an English bitter made with Belgian yeast. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

50 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Dark golden, thick head. Brown sugar-resin aroma. Thick, strong nectarine flavour. Long sweet caramel finish balanced nicely with malt. Better than I thought.

Bottle from lcbo Niagara on the lake, bottled July 17, 2012. Pours dark amber tan hue with a silky looking tan head. Lacing coats the glass. Nose and taste of toast, pine, and nut. Medium body... More body than one would expect from a sub 5% abv.

Nice big creamy head and a clear amber body. Soft hops and malt aroma. Flavour is slight nuttiness, sweet malts, with a medium hoppy finish. This is a good one.

500 ml bottle - thanks clint!! Clear amber with trace white head; caramel, dry malt and honey; dry with some sweet malt and fruit; slight twang from the fruit I guess; something a little off, but can’t put my finger on it

UPDATED: JUL 1, 2007 On Tap at the castle. Tapped a deep clear amber color with a decent sticky off-white cap that lasts and laces the glass Aromas of roast toffee, some carmel over dry hay and some citrus and ale-like fruity tones. Up front a decent malt spine is balanced with pine-citrus hopping...mid palate the hopping gets bitter and dries up the drink leading to a clean dry bitter finish. This is the bitter amber that Wellington never brewed.
