2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
500 ml bottle. Clear amber with a white head. Aroma is very malty with caramel, roast and a hint of nuts & cereal but there is a bit of floral hops as well. On the palate it is medium bodied, fairly roasty bitter but smooth and a tad watery for me. Meh, wouldn’t buy this one again.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle bought at Champanes,
this ale poured a red, orange, peach color into the glass and had a little haze, the pour gave a nice faint off-white cover that was lasting and left nice spots of lacing on the glass,
the nose had toasted malt, faint fruit that was pear like, a little citrus hops, malt sweetness with a hint of caramel,
the flavors were similar to the aroma, the finish had a light hop bitterness,
the mouth feel was light and creamy with average carbonation,
this beer had a nice flavor and nose of toasted malt, light hops and malt sweetness, a nice drink.

Ah yes the plowman’s ale. This one was good. Smells of flowers, tastes plummier than your average amber ale. Nice and fresh, I hope to drink this again in the summer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: clear medium amber with one finger of creamy ivory head diminishing gradually to a thin cap, patchy lacing. (4/5) Aroma: caramel/toffee malt, pine, toast, citrus zest, earth. (7/10) Taste: moderate-low sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium body, moderate-soft carbonation, off-dry slightly sticky lingering bitter finish. (4/5)
Well, that’s a bit of a surprise: it looks like an amber, but the aromas include a decent hop character in addition to the malt. Moreover, although the taste has some malt elements, it’s not sweet at all, and the bitterness is quite pronounced. I find it hard to believe that it’s only 35 IBU, actually, and can definitely taste the super-alpha hops. The bitterness really sticks around in the slightly sticky finish, lingering and growing. An amber I actually like - who’d’a thunk it? (15/20)

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sample at Volo IPA Challenge. Pours a deep amber with a large off-white head that recedes eventually to a ring. Aroma is slightly sweet, good floral hop notes. Taste is much the same but with a good malt back and a pleasingly bitter finish. Solid and well crafted.

Bottled sample at ribeye jacks. Pours amber with minimal head that dissipates quickly. Large caramel toffee and malt flavour. Nice and bubbly. Great aftertaste

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not bad this is one of my favourites from the brewery. Clean brown with light head. Aroma has some sweet malts and a bit of breadiness to it. Flavour is a little buttery and like fresh white bread but it has a nice amout of bitter to it. Medium body.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark amber pour, large head. Hopping here more akin to english than american in both aroma and taste. Fruity, caramel malt, bitter, very quaffable. Lighter grapefruit and resin notes. Medium body.
