A great amber ale. Starts off caramelly-sweet like a british ale, but ends off with a nice bitter hop finish. Will definitely get this again.

I tried this beer on May 5, 2011 after purchasing from the Queen’s Quay LCBO outlet in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a translucent brownish-red with a rocky tan cap that laced well. The aroma was sweet caramel malt, and weak floral hops. The mouthfeel was medium bodied with medium carbonation. The flavour is quite hoppy with a malt sweeetness in the middle - I was hoping for better.

decent drinking amber ale, this brewery has a very similar malt profile in a lot of thier brews, which is a good one, nice biscuity aftertaste, but i feel like this is a smaller version of the jubilation almost. decent drinker, nice session brew for sure with a decent hop profile to it.

bottle. Poured hazy orange with a creamy tan head. Fresh herbal hoppy aroma. Average carbonation, sticky palate. Grapefruit, green tea, caramel malt, hint of pepper. A bit of a metallic finish kinda like a dry red wine. Quaffable.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2007 This ale poured a slightly cloudy dark orange colour with a big frothy dense head, light tan in colour. Very hoppy scent at first. Then came the orange citrus and a little spice at the end. First sip was very hopped, quite a bite. Bitter finish with a little roasted malt and toffee. Overall, way too bitter. They really need to back off on the hopps on this one. After 2 - 600ml glasses I couldn’t drink any more. Thats no good when you have just bought almost 2 litres. Flavour after a while is almost acidic.

On tap at brewery. Pours copper in colour, decent creamy head. Mild hoppy aroma, nicely balanced malt and hop taste. Bitter finish. Almost a Pale Ale. Quite good!

Slightly hazy amber pour. With a really foamy long lasting head. Malty caramel scent with a touch of hoppy grassiness. Really strong hops in the mouth. Way more than I expected from an amber ale. It’s not overpowering though. No bite in the back of the throat. There’s a sweetness that took a bit to show up. Overall this is pleasant but not exactly what I was looming for.

Pours a rustic, burnt orange sorta colour with a short lived fizzy white head. The aroma is like a light roasty sorta smell at first, with some creamy sorta wurthers toffee notes, maybe some sherry?? The flavour has a very solid malt foundation for a sort of tangy hop house, if that makes any sense. No one thing really stands out to me, it’s all just very well rounded and balanced. A good session ale. Props grand river.

500ml bottle purchased at the LCBO. Pours a reddish/ copper colour, white/ yellow head, sprinklings of lace here and there, good carbonation to boot. Aroma is carmalized malt and a dash of hops. Taste is malt, hop and a little smokiness as well. Real nice brew.

Bottle at Volo. The color is amber with a thin beige head. The taste is of citrus fruits with hops and malt that gives it it’s sweetnes. For me this is an average ale.
