Bottle thanks to Matt7215. Pours a slight brownish amber with medium off-white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, malt, and slight chocolate. Flavor similar with the addition of wheat, spice, and a slight sweetness. Very dry on the palate. Good flavor, bad finish.

A hazed copper amber ale with a thick mocha head. In aroma, nice caramel malt with pleasant nutty notes, treacle, smooth coffee. In mouth, a nice nutty caramel malt with light tobacco qualities, faint signs of oxidation, but overall, pleasant. Another forgotten 5 year old bottle.

Pours a clear amber, with a medium cream head. Aroma notes include roasted malt, florals, pine, and crackers. Tasting notes include toasty malts, caramel, toffee, and resinous pine. This is a fantastic beer, super hoppy!! I like it a lot!

Draft - Light grapefruit and pale malts. Clear copper with a rich beige head. Nice up front pithy bitterness and a crisp finish. Tasty and a great local.

50 cl bottle, Mulmur, ON, Canada. Dark golden, thick head. Brown sugar-resin aroma. Thick, strong nectarine flavour. Long sweet caramel finish balanced nicely with malt. Better than I thought.

Bottle from the LCBO thanks to czar, dated 2014/MAY/8. Pours a strong golden/light copper with a huge foamy white head that leaves fluffy lacing. Nose is of earthy hops and lightly metallic, you can even smell the carbonic acid I think. Taste is moderately bitter and dry, offers more carbonic bite and not much else. Some caramel, earthy/woody/strawy hops and that’s about it. Body is medium and carbonation way too high and problematic. There is some light grain husk in the finish along with some soapy and almost harsh bitterness. I didn’t have much expectations and this beer didn’t even try to reach them. Or maybe it’s the horrible label? Blah.

Thanx Ian. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy amber color with a one finger white bubbly and foamy head. Light lacing sticks to the sides of the glass after the head dies after a minute. The smell had a ton of roasted caramel maltiness up front and then a light toffee ends up making an effort to come forth but mainly stays in the background. The taste was sweet caramel malts with a better indication of the toffee coming out in the taste. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. There’s a decent sessionability about this. The carbonation finishes fairly smooth. Overall, a decent red ale I’d probably have again but don’t expect much hoppiness from this one.

Bottled sample at ribeye jacks. Pours amber with minimal head that dissipates quickly. Large caramel toffee and malt flavour. Nice and bubbly. Great aftertaste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

lesifflebiere (1355) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 21, 2014

Bottle bought at Champanes, this ale poured a red, orange, peach color into the glass and had a little haze, the pour gave a nice faint off-white cover that was lasting and left nice spots of lacing on the glass, the nose had toasted malt, faint fruit that was pear like, a little citrus hops, malt sweetness with a hint of caramel, the flavors were similar to the aroma, the finish had a light hop bitterness, the mouth feel was light and creamy with average carbonation, this beer had a nice flavor and nose of toasted malt, light hops and malt sweetness, a nice drink.
