COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pugnascious is designed to be a very simple ale. A combination of pale malt, crystal and 4 strikes of cascade hops in significant quantities - in true US pale ale tradition. Not rocket science but no beer is.

Purchased at the LCBO tonight and bottled on AUG 03 2011. Pours a clean amber colour with a big off-white head that stays a long time and leaves decent lacing. Great Pale Ale nose with the mix of sweet malt, cereal grains and hops. Surprisingly, the taste is a bit too mild for me (especially after the beautiful aromas). Watered-down caramel with a little hop in the finish, but all too watery. Too bad, as this could be a great one. Still, refreshing overall with its little dryness in the finish. Funny, it does get better as you drink it (and no it was not cold to begin with).

[3938-20110827] Bottle. Mild orange cherry juice aroma. Clear, bright orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Malty grainy bread flavour has a lingering multigrain note. Medium body. Good. (6/3-/7/3/14) 3.3

500ml botle shared by MartinT.
Appearance : Clear amber with a small head.
Aroma : Malt ans resinous hops. Nice hop profile but a bit phenolic and buttery maybe. Nice fruits.
Taste : Nice malt with nice resinous hops. Finish is a bit thin with some malt and hops. Faint bitterness.
Overall : Not bad but the phenolic notes are bugging me a bit. It also seemed quite buttery according to Martin but I’m not really sensible to this so I only got faint buttery notes.

Sweet bready aroma, not much hop nose (is this bottle fresh?). High clarity, deeply golden in colour. Beige persistent head, minimal lacing. Taste is simple, but good. Palate from all grand river beers I find very nice. Must be the water.

Somewhat like a pale crossed with a lager. Easy mouthfeel. Trademark Grand River mineral bitterness and some hoppiness. Nothing special to smell or to look at (yellowish although decent head). Good drinkability.

Appearance: Pours a transparent orange, no head, lots of carbonation. Aroma: Super hoppy. Hoppy hoppy hoppy. Slight hints of banana and cloves. Palate: smooth, slightly dry. Medium-thin bodied. Taste: quite bitter, but not too bitter for me, slightly sweet and salty. Pretty good for an Ontario IPA. Surprisingly good coming from Grand River, given their Cherry Ale was the most noxious beer I’ve ever had. I actually enjoy this one, though there are better IPAs out there.

Bottle [500ml]. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a small diminishing fizzy off-white head. Aroma of bready malt, Grand River yeast (prevalent in all their beers), light hops and a hint of diacytil. Flavor of bready malt, the aforementioned yeast, floral hops and an average bitter finish -- I would not have guessed this was made with Cascade. Medium bodied. Probably pretty good on tap but just good in the bottle. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
