Bottle thanks to Matt7215. Pours an expected dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, spices, smoke, and coffee. Flavor matches well, but has a certain taste that I have been getting from all of these Grand Rivers. Pretty decent brew and very drinktable, especially as it warms up from fridge temp.

Big bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a lacy, beige head. Aroma of light roasted malts, sweet chocolatey notes, hints of coffee, light dough, and not much else. Flavors all kind of light with something off here. Average texture. Not the best beer.

1 Pint bottle from Champanes, this ale had a dark brown-black pour and had about a one finger light tan head that receded to a thin layer and sticky ring, it had a nice presentation for an imperial stout, it left nice partial rings and fingers of lacing on the glass, the nose had aromas of roasted malt, faint dry chocolate, a faint earthy-smoke in the background and some hints of dark fruit with molasses sweetness, the flavors were roasted malt, a little smoke, a touch of bitter chocolate and faint dark fruit of fig and over done (almost burnt) blueberry, it had very little dark sugar sweetness, the finish had a nice roasted malt bitterness with some roasted malt following, the mouth feel was light for an impy stout, it was creamy and had average to lively carbonation, a little less carbonation may help a bit, a nice nose and flavor with a good roasted malt base and touches of smoke and dark fruit, my experience was most of the imperial stouts I have had that are less than 9% alc. do not have the full big nose or flavor I like in an impy, the mouth feel was light, this drink is 8.5% alc., not a big impy, but it was nice, it had a little smoke and dark fruit notes that gave this drink a nice touch.

At DTE tasting. Poured a very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roast malt, dark fruit, dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied, flavour is more pronounced than the aroma, lightly smoked.

Bottle at the DTE tasting, Den Haag. Poured a dark mahogany with a thin light tan head. The aroma is roasted malt, zesty citrus, light band aid. The flavour is medium to strong bitter with a dry medicinal band aid palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Pours jet black with a thick off white head. The aroma is quite subdued for an imperial stout, but there are slight notes of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and sweet molasses. Tasting notes include rich toasted malts, espresso, bitter dark chocolate, and some smoke, The rich roasted malts lingers in the aftertaste, this is a very enjoyable imperial stout.

Bottle 500 ml. Bought at LCBO. Pours black with thick creamy beige head. Some lacing. Arma: coffee and roasted malt. Subtle. Taste: some chocolate, with roasted malt and nuts. Alcohol well hidden. No aftertaste. Creamy texture. Thin for the style. Fairly enjoyable Imperial Stout.

Cloudy chestnut with a little bit of head. Both molasses and vague spice (cinnamon?) are present in the aroma. Rich, full-bodied and with lots of spice, but also yeasty. The malts are muddled and while the rich fruitiness is appreciated the roast is harsh like burnt espresso and the alcohol not strong enough to take the edge off the sweetness.
