[2508-20091002] Cask. Grainy cardboard fruit spices aroma. Clear, light orange body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Light bandaid fruity flavour has a bit of a smoky spice finish. Medium body. Odd spice characteristic.

Cask at C’est What Fall Festival. Pours a hazy orange-gold with white head. Sweet malts and slight fruitishness in the nose. Flavour has fruit and grainy malt. Moderate bitterness in a dry finish. Pleasant.

Cask at C’est What’s ’Fall Festival of Craft Breweries’. Pours a hazy amber-gold with a small lasting fizzy white head. Aroma’s slightly sweet and fruity along with light hops and grain. Flavour’s a touch odd, a bit buttery, along with fruit, light hops and grain -- again, I find it a bit odd for some reason. Average bodied. An odd little number but I don’t mind it, it’s still good.

Cask. At 2009 C’est What Fall festival. Slightly hazy amber with a lasting off-white foamy head. Very mild aroma - wheaty grain with a hint of citrus zest. thin, grainy, borderline too-sweet flavour, with a gypsum overtaste that I didn’t like (reminded me of the taste you get in you mouth when you’ve been putting up wallboard all day). I liked the mouthfeel a lot - light and incredibly soft, weak carbonation, and the mineral astringency sticks to your palate afterwards. Ehh - not a winner, but better than beaus.

Reddish hue, with a Caesar head. Toasted aroma, with toasty taste. Lagerish and thin, still drinkable.

cask at C’est What
Appearance: clear amber look with mid light , fizzy , rocky top.3-
Nose: nutty , flowery with hint of honey on dusty blanket. Sweet malts noted as well.
Flavor/Palate : Mid light bodied , fairly smooth . sweet with strange short lived hop burst. Better grainy ending.

CASK at C’est What. Cascading carbonation over lightly foggy darkish yellow. Smells fresh, light and sweet. Taste?? Layers upon layers of grainy malt flavors that are also mild and almost rich with a gently alefruit-like sweetness underneath. The hops integrate as part of the dryness of the grainy malt character. The feel is superb, and there is no ’lager edge’ to this one perha[s owing to the very calm carbonation. Extremrely unique lager and a pleasure.

2009-10-01. Lightly hazy golden yellow body, small white head. 3+ Light band aid/ smoke notes in the nose are off putting, mild malts. Dry malt flavour, moderate bitterness throughout, lightly astringent at times. Average palate. Probably my least favorite Grand River, will have to re-rate this again if I get a chance to compare as others seemed to enjoy it more than I did. Bit odd, I am starting to wonder if it was me tonight. Cask at C’est What
