Commercial Description:
Au Naturale is an easy drinking, blonde ale. The ale has a crisp, clean body and a subtle malt sweetness. All organic German Pilsner, Vienna and CaraHell malts and German organic Hallertau hops are used for purity’s sake. The play on words lends itself not only to the organic ingredients in the beer, but also to the lifestyle of those of us who live at one with nature. Grab a bottle and join us in the hot spring!

Among the summery beers I’m trying right now, this is tops so far. Mild but pleasing floral aroma, floral and honey character in the flavor, and a smooth, velvety finish. The brewery had set up a little tasting table at John’s here in town and among the three they had to taste (this, the IPA, and the Bitch Creek ESB) this was the nicest, hence why I brought a bottle home for rating.

Golden color with a small white, some lacings. Sweet light malts with a slightly bitter finish. One small step up from a macro lager. Bottled on 5-28-08. Consumed 10-10-08.

Light and refreshing blonde, good crisp straw and wheat flavor, soft hops, grassy with a light citrus fruitiness to them. Pours clear gold with a small white head. Flavors are soft, but have a nice crisp refreshing quality to them. It made a nice hot day brew, but nothing that really stood out.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a decent white head. Aroma is mostly wheat. Flavor is wheat and corn. Just okay for me.

Golden w/ a good head that lasts. Aromas of stale hard bread. Medium nectar w/ good carbonation. Flavors of malted stale bread w/ mild bittering on the finish.

Pale yellow with thin white head. Aroma of corn, sweet malts and mild hops. Body is thin and watery and tastes mostly of corn with some mild caramel sweetness. I kind of knew what I was in for when I saw Organic and blonde ale in the same sentence so I wasn’t expecting much and didn’t get much.

Not a terrible ale by any means, but nothing in this beer really wows me. It’s a nice clean beer that’s perfect for mowing the lawn and hot days in general. Decent malt flavors, a tiny bit fruity - perhaps apples. Grains taste nice and fresh, perhaps because it’s organic. Overall worth picking up, but not worth going out of your way for.

Bottle. Pours a fizzy orange with a medium white head. The aroma is mostly bready and some hops. The taste is your basic malt with some bready and a bit of sweet citrus. Not bad at all. The girl on the label is hot at least.
