I guess I’ll pull this beer out of hiatus too. Poured on draft at The Collective. Pours black with a tan fizz head. Soft fruit and malt aroma. Flavor is fruity first, and coffee second. Almost soured. A lighter feel to a barrel aged inperial. Drinks nice. Coffee reminded finish, but a berry fruit remains dominant. Overall a very tasty beer.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours near black with a nice tan head and a chocolate, bourbon and coffee aroma. There is a medium-bodied treacle flavor with lots of coffee. Pretty tasty but not real heavy with a hint of bourbon.

Tap @ Bier Thirty: Very dark brown color with a modest brown head. The nose on this beer is insane… sweet milk chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and bourbon. I could sniff this all day long. The taste is more roasty than the nose would suggest, along with some of the coffee. There is a little sour suggestion along the way. I wish the taste would have kept pace with the nose… still a nice barrel aged beer from the home state.

"Imperial Porter brewed with triple-certified espresso beans aged in Buffalo Trace and Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrels" A couple of nice pours at the Bittercreek event for Grand Teton’s 25th Anniversary party. Dark, dark brown brew.. but not quite black... good 1 finger tannish head... The nose is bigger coffee and much lesser vanilla... bourbon qualities are there but seem light IMO. The palate mirrors the nose, but I get something that I associate with diacetyl... a bit of buttery corny essence... dark malt verges on black-out ashy with warmth.... drink this colder.

Draft. Black beer with a tan head. Coffee and malt aroma. Coffee and roast flavor with light vanilla. Medium bodied. Coffee and roast lingers with light vanilla and light bourbon.
