COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character... Not for the timid.

Draft at the Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours nice and brown. Almost mahogany. Love that word. Mahogany. Tan head. Smells like sweet malty goodness with a hint of hope. Tastes like sweet malty goodness but with a little more hops. Thank you.

Pours a nice dark ruby brown color with a frothy tan head. Aromas and flavors of toffee, caramel, chocolate and nuts along with good bitterness. Medium bodied. This is almost more of a Brown IPA rather than an Extra Special Brown. Very tasty nonetheless.

I really liked it even though I am not a huge fan of brown ales in general.

Pretty good brown. Not my favorite, but good. Nice aroma and color. Give it a try!

Wittales (619) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 2, 2014
Appearance was clear reddish brown with creamy beige 1/2 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are toffee, roasted barley, chocolate and soft coffee with earthy spicy hops. Taste are caramel, roasted black, chocolate malt beginning and middle. The backend of leather, earth and spicy hops round out the back. Palate was soft smooth CO2 with medium body, lasting earthy bitter finish. A good ESB, needs more balance.

Pours with a lot of carbonation which creates a large, yellow tan colored head. Beer is a deep brown with a very nice garnet red coloring. A lot of carbonation remains on the side of the glass. Aroma has a very hefty amount of caramel malt which the sweetness is tempered by a light roasted nuttiness and light earthy bitterness. Flavor starts off with a lot of caramel malt sweetness with a light orange citrus and earthy bitterness moving into the middle to soften the sweetness. FInish of the beer has light coffee/dark chocolate mix with just a touch of date sweetness at the end. Body is modest with a high amount of carbonation which leaves great lacing on the side of the glass as it is drank down. Overall a very, very good example of an ESB.

Typical esb beer. Not what I like but had most of the beers on the menu. Bitter with a bad aftertaste Had this at bad dog ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Not the ESB you’re thinking of. This is a nice variation of the style being a bit more roasty than your average ESB of a copper red color. Decent brew.

Pours a dark brown w/ a good tan head that leaves nice lacing. The aroma is a good blend of malt & hop. The taste is fairly bitter throughout but finishes w/ some sweet malt & a clean finish. It has a very good mouthfeel & an overall a terrific beer!

Perhaps the summer months have me craving something more thirst quenching. I found this off-putting from the start... although I would typically enjoy something so roasted and bitter. Will review again down the road.
