COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bitch Creek perfectly balances big malt sweetness and robust hop flavor for a full bodied, satisfying mahogany ale. Like the stream for which it is named, our Bitch Creek ESB is full of character... Not for the timid.

Nose is somewhat sweet. Taste is malty with good hops level. Caramel and toffee make this a smooth drinker

355ml bottle (thanks FatPhil). Hazy brown color. Huge size, thick tan head, stays. Husky, grainy, sourish, acidic, citrus in aroma. Husky, roast, grainy, spicy hops in taste. Spicy hops and sweet caramelly roast in aftertaste. Quite high carbonation. Feels bit old, but not a disaster. I kind of like it.

355ml bottle - thanks dwyerpg! at 6.0%
Really hard to pour, frothing everywhere. Otherwise nice brown, spongy tan head. Pleasant malty brown aroma, roasted, but just a hint of sour acidity. Very rich bready roast, again a hint of sourness. Not so much that it really detracts from the taste. Light palate, carbonation way too high. Bottled 22/10/2015. Nice bitter finish, real hops. Spoilt, but still pretty decent.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a big, beige head. The nose is burnt toast, licorice, and pine sap. A little sweet, with a harsh bitterness. Medium to heavy body, astringent, thick, and clingy. This is an acrid, overly roasted beer.

Ruby red beer, big tan head. Smells like caramel and a bit of hops. Has a bit of a bitter aftertaste, dry malts, pretty easy to drink.

Bottle at home from dwyerpg, many thanks! Reddish brown with massive off white head. Aroma of toffee, hay and some light citrus. A little bit stale hay/grass/citrus taste with toffee, vegetables and some grain.

May 27, 2016. Bottle at home, bottled October 22, 2015. Courtesy of dwyerpg, thanks!
Light hazy reddish brown with a huge off-white head. Aroma is boiled celery, toffee, light citrus notes, grass. Taste is light sweet, vegetal, light malty, light bitterness. Finish is light biscuit with caramel hints and more vegetal notes. Light ot medium bodied, average carbonation.

I remember this being better when I lived near the source. Guess that’s what drinking 1000 beers between then and now will do. Pretty average this one. Overly carbonated and some nice nutty notes. Not too sweet but overall just boring. Some hoppy and appropriately bitter notes. Downright average.

Overcarbonated... but that leads to a never ending head. Strong pine bittering hops with a rye and dark malt backbone. A nice beer but only if you are a hop head. Aroma has a metallic note. I wouldn’t say this is balanced.

Nice 1" lite tan head... chunky.. drops quickly leaving nice lacing... brown body until its held up to the light.. dark cherry juice red... Definately dark for the style, but very pretty nonetheless. Aroma is toasted malts and piney hops.. brown malts are in the middle.. clean without a whole bunch of yeasty fruitiness... nose falls slightly short but is vastly different than most ESB’s. Flavor is nothing like an ESB... American Brown through and through... caramel and toasted biscuits.. more brown malts with grassy American hops. Big medium body.. and light carbonation... very lite diacetyl (and I hate butterscotch) mixes very nicely with the brown malts... Given the style, I would not even put this in the top 20 of ESB’s I’ve enjoyed, but again, this is no ESB. Much more akin to a West Coast take on an English Brown.

Had it on draft at Ballard Station. Crisp bitterness, roasted coffee, sprinkle of cocoa but back to crispness. Actually works as an ESB/Brown hybrid
