3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice copper colored beer with a khaki head. Decent hop aroma of grapefruit and pine. Sweet bread, toffee, and caramel maltiness. A bit of dark fruit and sugar. There’s a hint of bitterness along with some alcohol to the flavor. Sweet caramel, toffee, toasted bread, and sugar. Nice fruit notes, mild citrus, and a hint of pine.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Cool pic. Barley wine laying down. Mine is a capped 750 from the BevMo in Vacaville. Pours hazy ruddy copper with a small off-white creamy/bubbly head. Aroma has a lot of pine/citrus. A lot. Full bodied. Moderate carbonation. Flavor is the standard brown sugar, but there’s a heck of a lot of hop fighting the sweet. This suggests "fresh hop barley wine". Those folks at GTB have finally gone off the deep end. Kudos. It’s finishing hoppy and bitter, while brown sugar constantly surges in and out. Amazing, brilliant ale.

750ml bottle. 4.99 at walgreens. Sturdy barley wine. Not sure how it was aged. Lots of dark fruit and caramel with still a bit of hops lingering through
At this price makes other similar beers look like jokes.

Bottle @ home picked up at Wilbur’s Fort Collins. Pours a hazy reddish orange appearance with a thin tan head. Caramel, toffee, a bit fruity, somewhat sweet malty, light woody aroma. Maple, spicy, toffee, brown sugar, somewhat hoppy, light piney hoppy flavor. Not bad for the abv but nothing special.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
"Smell, look, flavor typical for a bArleywine. Done well with strength but not a lot of alcohol showing. Lots of malt and dark fruit. Some spicy bitter hops and bread as well. Would have liked this fresh (this one is 14 months ipa). "

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 from Total Wine, Sacramento. Pours cloudy copper with a thin beige head and a fruit and toffee aroma. There is a thick malt flavor that starts sweet, but quickly turns bitter with a somewhat astringent finish and a warm alcohol trail. Probably needs to age for a couple years to mellow out.
