COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

I am a wolf tonight and this does not cut it. German weiss beers destroy Americsn IPAs.

A cloudy golden body with a white head. Head had minimal retention and no lace. Aroma had some nice bread and wheat malts upfront, some soft pepper notes with mild lemon/ Flavor had a good wheat malt base and a subtle presence of lemon and pepper. There was a bit a sweetness in the finish. A nice smooth body, with minimal carbonation. A easy to drink.

HA...funny I had the impression as "JOW", I though this was Wyoming but instead is brewed in Idaho. Anyway, I didn’t like it at first (at all) but it kinda grew on me. Didn’t get the banana taste as a lot of others but more of, for lack of a better term, earthy flavor.

Bottle from micro of month club, thought initially this was a Wyoming brewer so I could grab that stat but alas no, they moved to Idaho. Pours dirty very dirty in fact blonde with no head. Nose of bubblegum and tropocbal fruit. Tastes of grapefruit, banana, orange, cloves, bubblegum, pepper, and some wheat. Crisp but not quite there

On Tap at Brewforia Beer Market, Meridian, ID Classic hazy yellow with a white but fleeting head. Very soft aroma of fruity German hef notes. Flavor is quite Bananana-y and overall pretty sweet and not as crisp as better examples of the style.

Bottle. Cloudy golden body. Small, white head. Light aroma of clove, bubble gum, grain. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. A slight tartness finishes things off. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of clove and bleach in the aftertaste. Homebrew kit-like.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle hazy orange pour with thin to no white head, aroma brought notes of milky yeast notes, hints of lemon zest, touch of earth, grass and biscuit notes, slight orange peel, hints of banana and spice notes as well. Taste is a mix of milky and bready yeast, some full bread and biscuit notes, touch of banana, hints of spice, orange, touch of lemon, finishing fairly yeasty. Pretty nice, but a bit unbalanced.

Cloudy yellow-orange with a white head. Banana aroma. Taste is sweet banana with light cloves and a long sweet, sticky finish. One of the better American examples.

Received from The Wolf Public House in Ballwin, MO in a 12oz bottle and poured into a Weizen Glass. Bottled On= 11/24/10 Appearance- Blonde in color and as the farther up you go, the dark the color becomes. Very cloudy as well with 1 finger of head. Smell- Strong hints of orange and very yeasty Taste- An extreme dose of the average wheat beer and then a orange/lemon taste. Mouthfeel- Medium bodied beer and easy flowing throughout the whole drink. Drinkability- Could recommend this to anyone who is into Wheat/Weizen beers. Much better than other Hefeweizens coming from America. Would drink all night if I wasn’t paying attention.
