COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

Wheat and carbonization is what hit me from the start and it finished the same. aroma was fruity and refreshing.

Bottle 6/21/12 - Pouirs a pale straw color with a light haze and lots of bubbles. Thin white head is short lived. Staunch aroma of corn, grass, and malts. Tastes slightly sweeter than the aroma would suggest, followed by a crisp grassy and herbal hop finish. Uninteresting.

Sampled at St. Paul Summer Beer Fest. Yellow/orange pour with a small white head. Wheat and light fruit - not a great beer.

12 oz bottle @ home. Hazy, golden orange appearance with an off-white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Spicy yeasty, rich clove, herbal, wheat, light banana aroma. Fairly spicy, bready wheat malty, a bit toasty, clove, dull flavor. Bleh.

Bottle. Poured a somewhat hazy yellow color with a smaller white head. Aroma was banana, bubblegum and citrus notes. Flavor was yeast, citrus, and clovers. Citrus finish. Not a bad beer.

Scipio (690) - Palatine, Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2012
Pours a very cloudy, unfiltered golden with a lesser white head. Aroma is of lemon, banana, and a bit of spice. Taste feels kind of flat. Heavier in banana, less in lemon, with hints of pepper and spice. Body is lighter, with a somewhat oily texture. Sticky lemony aftertaste. Not very refreshing based on how light this is. Overall, this seems to be lacking a lot in just about all areas.

Pours a clear lemon yellow with light frothy white head. Aroma is lemon, pepper, hay. Flavor is hay, pepper and citrus. body is light with active carbonation. Nothing to write home about.

Pours a darker golden colour. Apple, citrus and wheat aroma. Apple, spices and grains on the tongue. Thin and carbonated. Water after taste. Not bad

Bottle. Banana, lemon, clove, and wheat malt aroma. Mostly clear golden yellow color with small head and moderate effervescence. Sweet ripe banana, clove and light wheat malt flavor. Pretty good - would have liked it better if it were a bit maltier.

Bottle. Yeasty wheat, citrus, bubblegum, clove. Hazy golden with a minimal white ring. Wheat malt, bubblegum, orange, clove flavor. Light carbonated body. I’m by no means an expert, but this struck me as a weird hefeweizen.
