COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a hazy light yellow color with a white head. The aroma is wheat, grain and bananas, about what I expect in the hefeweizen. The flavor is more of the same. I get a lot of wheat and banana notes with some clove mixed in. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This tastes and smells like a hefeweizen should, but something about it doesn’t sit that well with me. Decent, but not one of the better Grand Teton beers I have had.

(12oz bottled 9/23/10 thanks to ericandersnavy) clearish gold, few bubbles. Nose of coriander, huge banana saltwater taffy. Taste of wheat, banana, bubblegum, old grain. Linger of old banana extract. Not good.

Tap @ bittercreek: hazy blonde, light white head and nice lacing. Nose of fresh pale malt and wheat, light esters with more pronounced banana. Creamy wheaty flavor with a light hoppy finish. Clean and balanced hefe; do I taste decoction?

Fr0m the b0ttle this p0ured a fairly clear yell0w/g0ld b0dy with l0ts 0f bubbles and a 3-fingered head. The ar0ma was very bready, d0ughy, and yeasty. It tasted lightly lem0ny with raw bread d0ugh and light fresh fruit. It finished dry and quietly tangy. 0kay as a quencher, but n0t interesting en0ugh t0 pursue further.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of pale wheat, curacao and other orange and citrus fruits, coriander seed and a hint of bubble gum - very nice. Medium-bodied; Assertive wheatie and yeastie flavour at first with a herbal sweetness soon afterwards and some light spices noticeable. Aftertaste is mostly dry, showing some wheat, a little curacao and a hint of the alcohol. Overall, a nice very mild german wheat with some sweetness, but mostly a dry lingering flavour with some light spices too. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California on 06-December-2011 for US$1.79 sampled at home in Washington on 14-March-2012 when Detroit Lost to Anaheim in hockey and it first hit 80degrees Farenheit in Washington - in early MARCH.

Bottle: The aroma consists of banana, clove, bubblegum, and light citrus. It pours a hazy orangish-gold with a one finger white head that quickly fades to a thin ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with moderate banana, bubblegum, and a hint of lemon. The finish has very light wheaty tanginess and just a hint of clove. Light-medium bodied with light-moderate carbonation and a somewhat soft mouthfeel. Overall solid, but a tad on the sweet side and not enough citrus flavors.

A slightly fruity aroma. Very good appearance. This is pretty nice, even though I’m drinking it a little warm. Has quite a bit of wheat, some banana. Decent.
