COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Howling Wolf Weisse Bier is an unfiltered Bavarian-style Hefeweizen. Brewed with a hearty amount of wheat, this Weissbier pours a light clouded golden color with a generous head. Gently hopped to balance the malt sweetness, Howling Wolf’s flavors and aromas are subtle with a hint of fruit and spice. At 5% alcohol by volume, this light-bodied ale is a refreshing session beer for any time of year.

A cloudy golden body with a white head. Head had minimal retention and no lace. Aroma had some nice bread and wheat malts upfront, some soft pepper notes with mild lemon/ Flavor had a good wheat malt base and a subtle presence of lemon and pepper. There was a bit a sweetness in the finish. A nice smooth body, with minimal carbonation. A easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color with decent head and some nice lazing. Very light aroma with small citrus smell. Light and the palate but also on the taste. Somewhat dry finish. Okay for just having a beer, but not a favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fr0m the b0ttle this p0ured a fairly clear yell0w/g0ld b0dy with l0ts 0f bubbles and a 3-fingered head. The ar0ma was very bready, d0ughy, and yeasty. It tasted lightly lem0ny with raw bread d0ugh and light fresh fruit. It finished dry and quietly tangy. 0kay as a quencher, but n0t interesting en0ugh t0 pursue further.

From a bottle. Pours cloudy gold with a fizzy white head. Tastes like wheat, creamy, sweet lemon. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like wheat, musk, and very faint citrus.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s into a goblet. Pale, orange, unfiltered appearance with a white head and light lacing. Aroma of bready malts, coriander, citrus fruits, banana, spices, noble hops and herbs. Similar flavor, pretty light and refreshing, finishing on the sweet side. Pretty balanced and sessionable.

Bottle: Pours slightly hazed yellow-gold with a small, soapy, white head. Yeast, banana, wheat aroma. Banana, clove, yeast taste.....sweet. Light, but lively. Not bad.

I enjoy a weisse every now and then. This is pretty average. Would like to have seen a bigger head. The banana flavor was not as strong as compared to other weisse beers. The body was also thin. Would have this again, but I would not seek it out.

Bottled 1/11/11 A: Pours a hazy, light grain colored ale. Despite saying the beer is hazy, it has excellent clarity. No head formation on pour, but can be agitated with stirring. However, this is almost immediately transient. No lacing. S: Grain, lemon rind, bavarian yeast, hints of soil. The slightest feel of coriander and pepper. Pleasant. At the far end, there is a hint of rubber (not cool). T: Wheat, corn meal, yeasty, sweet. Slightly acidic with citrus tones. Salt water taffy tone. M: Medium body with medium carbonation. Slicks the palate and sticks around. D: The beer is okay. Not the most drinkable of their offerings, and unfortunate given this is one of my favorite locals. This beer as a weizenbock exceeds expectations, this does not though. Serving type: bottle 03-10-2011
