COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lost Continent Double IPA has an astonishing three pounds of hops per barrel in the kettle and another pound per barrel of "dry-hops" added after fermentation, bringing this beer to 90+ IBUs. Starting with an original gravity of 22˚ Plato (1.088 SG), this is a full-bodied beer weighing in at 8.0% ABV. The hops provide citrusy, resinous spiciness, making this beer a great match for any bold food. Try it with prime rib, Cajun blackened pork or chicken, Thai, Indian or Vietnamese cuisine.

pours like liquid cramel with a thick creamy head that lingers. I smell sweet juicy malt and citrus. Full luscious nectar w/ creamy chewy residual effers. A copious malt backboe bench presses a ton of spiney hop sacks producing flavors of caramel and pine resin. A defined sweetness overshadows the bittering to a point yet never reaching cloying. A fantastic specimen

Great hoppy floral aroma that isn’t over bittered. The flavor is also excellent. Strong hop bitterness, bot in a good way. I enjoyed this beer and am surprised by the relatively low style score.

This one is alive with spicy, citrusy hops. One whiff fills the sinuses even while it is still. Swirl it around a bit and, wow! The off-white head settles down quickly, but never completely. The brew itself is a pleasantly inviting orangey-amber. The taste is much like the aroma, but more so. There is a perfect balance between hoppiness and fruitiness, making it a very pleasant explosion of IPA goodness without being to bitter or too sweet. The balance between them remains intact well after the creamy brew is gone, never leaving a bitter aftertaste on the palate even though it is full bodied. From start to finish, this is a great IPA. I’m thinking it may become one of my favorites.

1. Look – A cloudy beer with a lot of sediment which is visible in the pint glass. There is a small head and there is a slow but consistent flow of bubbles which may suggest this IPA was conditioned in the bottle through natural carbonation. 2. Sniff – There is a very light citrusy aroma to this beer. 3. Sip – A particularly interesting bitterness with a citrus taste and a great back end taste and flavor. A very well balanced Double I.P.A. I particularly enjoy the wet bitterness and overall taste. 4. Another Look – This beer is heavy with a great deal of sediment throughout the beer. It is mouthwatering and I want to keep drinking it. 5. Evaluate – Overall, I wish this beer was available by the case. I like the am a big fan of this beer. There is a great tasting texture and flavor that is no so common with I.P.A.s. I also like the excess sediment in the beer. It adds to the experience and my interest in the beer. I would definitely purchase this beer again for the overall flavor and high alcohol content of this interesting Double I.P.A.

A new top 10 for me. Though hard to find for me in SC. Pours a deep copper color with small head. Great lacing. Warm brandyish taste with deep malt backbone and spicy / citrus hop.

12 oz. bottle- Pours golden orange with not much head, aroma is citrus, grass, and very floral. The flavor is a very mellow not overbearing Double IPA with an underlying bitterness that doesn’t fully develope until after the swallow. It’s a good thing I bought a four pack of this stuff because I already want more.

On tap at Winter Park Beer Fest ’11. Terrifically balanced double IPA. Not a West Coast hop bomb...decidedly more balanced style with great citrus notes and full body with honey and black peppery notes. One of my favorite brews from the festival along with Durango’s Derail and Bristol’s IPA on nitro.

Tap Pours nice orange ish gold with white lace. The aroma is light, citrus and pale malt. The taste is smooth rounded hops with a full malty supply to compliment the brew. Earthy light sweet grapefruit, a touch of lemon, a tiny bit of near raspberry flavor and a differentiating spice comes out in the finish to make it an extremely complex hoppy beer. The carbonation is friendly and the sparkling aspect brings the grain out in the finish. Really a fully thought out complex ipa.

Dark copper color with a small head. Very strong orange and tangerine aroma, with honey and caramel backing. Big citrusy taste. Strong malt rounded off with caramel. A little more than moderate bitterness. On the dry side for the finish.

Aroma of bright citrusy hopping, more orangy then grapefruit, sugar daddy caramel comes through also. First taste is somewhat different then other hop bombs. This absolutely reminded me of a hop infused creamsickle , with that orangey hopping really evident now, and the malting showing up as a slightly sweet creamy sidekick. Has that absolute perfect level of carbonation, so smooth that all the flavors dance around the palate A pleasant teasing bitterness takes it home. Seems to thin out just a hair half way through the pint, but kudos indeed for coming up with a unique hop bomb taste. On tap at Romans in Milwaukee
