3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAY 2, 2014 Pours a slightly hazy copper with substantial frothy head. Flavor is bright with nice malt hops balance. Medium body. Very drinkable, yet with some complexity. 5/2/14 update - this just keeps getting better. Flavors of roasted spice, rye seeds, finishing with refreshing hops. Note, its unfiltered, so it can pour sediment and be cloudy.

From a bottle. Pours hazy copper with a bubbly off white head. Tastes sweet, hoppy, very malty, light orange citrus. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like citrus, pine, resin, and sweet caramel malt.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from sampler pack. Pours mostly clear golden amber wit creamy off-white head. Aroma is toasted and cereal malts, light caramel, floral notes, oranges, and fresh yeast esters. Flavor is a good balance of cereal malts and floral hop bitterness, light grassy notes, and faint citrus esters; dry finish with a touch of bitterness. Medium body and carbonation.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I'm shocked this is rated so low. Of all the pale ale styles I've tried this is one of the better ones. I like it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a hazy, darker golden with a medium white head. The aroma has grassy hops, orange, lemon, and caramel, with the grassiness being dominant. The is slightly sweet and quite fruity. I find grapefruit, orange, lemon, some pine, and complimented with caramel undertones. Short aftertaste is orange and grapefruit. Medium in body, slick in texture, with some softer, rather fizzy carbonation. I found this one very easy to drink. Its a solid beer.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Small sample bottled 10 months ago. Musty green aroma with citrus fruits, sweet malts and light skunk. Similar flavor, vegetal, sweet and mildly bitter. Light to medium body. Not as good as I remember, I’ll pick up a fresher bottle and rerate this.

light tan foamy head that retained well for a while then collapsed. Carbonation low with small bubbles. Aroma of very and strong nice citrus hops. Taste a bit bland up front followed by a nice mild citrus hops bitterness. Light to medium body. Overall a very pleasant beer with a long nice bitter finish.

Review from notes on 07/07/10.
$2 for 12oz @ Huck’s in Spokane, WA.
Poured from bottle to Sam Adams glass.
A: Pours a brilliant amber with two finger persistent white whipping atop the ale. This is consistently complimented from bubbles arising from the ale.
S: Hops! Hooray! Pine, citrus, skunk, earth, grain all accentuate this pales nose. On the sharp side, this is nose candy.
T: The hops carry over into the taste as well. Strong citrus and pine with a resin bitterness marry the generous malt packed into this one. Finishes with a wonderful, short lived, balanced flavor of hops and malt.
M: Moderate carbonation allows you to enjoy the flavors on this pale. Medium bodied for a pale, this is not a child’s PA.
D: This screams American Pale Ale. For those who enjoy Dale’s Pale Ale, get your hands on this one! Malty, hoppy, and clocking in at 60 IBU, this beer stands far from the children in it’s category as a man’s beer!

Bottle pours clear copper with a medium head and thin lacing. Aroma is subtle hoppiness. Flavor is not bad. I need to try a fresh one.
