12 oz. bottle from a mixed 12 pack brought home from Wyoming by my parents. Thanks, mom and dad! This one pours a mostly clear amber with a small but long-lasting creamy tan head. The aroma is mellow, but delivers notes of caramel malts, brown sugar, dried leaves, nuts, and sugar smacks cereal. The flavor hits most of the same notes, but with more pop. Light-bodied, with a sweet, malty mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Not a bad amber ale.

Pours copper brown with almost no head and no lacing. Smells of barley. Tastes mostly of malts and has a clean finish. A really good beer.

Pretty clear amber pour, fluffy white head at the brewery. Aroma has some sticky malts, some wheaty notes, and some citrusy hops. Flavor is nice and malty with a great amount of hops.

Bottle. Clear amber pour with a smaller white head. Caramel on the nose. Taste also has a bit of a hop kicker.

Bottle. Pours clear amber with an average, frothy light tan head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is caramel and toast malt, herbal and earthy hops, and light fruity esters. Flavor is malt forward with supporting hops and light bitterness, light fruity esters, and a somewhat dry finish. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.

(bottle 9/3/10). Clear amber/red color. Medium off white head. Moderate toast malt aroma. Same flavor, with very light hops. Avg duration. Very light bittern finish. Thin/slick texture. Soft to moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.

Pretty solid ale. Poured from bottle. Soft fruity esters in the aroma, taste is a well balanced light hoppybitterness with some caramel malt to back it up. Aftertaste lingers of the bitterness. The malt flavor is good but could be more fore-front with some of those roasty malts. It’s semi-light in body, I could probably put 4 of these down comfortable.

From a mixed 12 pack bottled on 4/26/11. Purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. The aroma on this is sweet, with candy sugars, some caramel hints, and some nuttiness. Light roasted cereal, too. A nice aroma for an amber. Just a touch of metallic hop character is also present. Scantly hazy ruddy amber body with a nice, creamy, strong off-yellow head. Starts a little sweet and sugary, before this quicky becomes quite nutty, and fairly toasted in the middle. Modest caramel is also present, but there is a huge nuttiness here. Pretty dry finish with herbal and metallic hop bitterness. A little more bitter, dry, and astringent than I would have expected.

12oz bottle from Gomer’s North in Parkville, MO. Pours crystal clear dark copper/amber with a finger of light beige head. Aroma is nothing but a caramel/sugary blast -- a little over the top! Flavor is similarly cloying, but with some depth from candy apples, a light citrus, and ... right, more caramel. Smooth and simple, thin body, but tasty in moderation.

bottle. Pours dark, slightly orange amber, with frothy off white head. Plenty of caramel on the aroma, with some pretzel and subtle nuts as well. Flavor is balanced, with enough to hops to impart a subtle bitterness. Initial flavor is caramel and hay with this subtle hop bittering, but the finish is kind of odd, leaving a chalky, dusty feel in the mouth, with tones of nuts. Not bad, but will not revisit.
