From a mixed 12 pack bottled on 4/26/11. Purchased at Nugget in Woodland, CA. The aroma on this is sweet, with candy sugars, some caramel hints, and some nuttiness. Light roasted cereal, too. A nice aroma for an amber. Just a touch of metallic hop character is also present. Scantly hazy ruddy amber body with a nice, creamy, strong off-yellow head. Starts a little sweet and sugary, before this quicky becomes quite nutty, and fairly toasted in the middle. Modest caramel is also present, but there is a huge nuttiness here. Pretty dry finish with herbal and metallic hop bitterness. A little more bitter, dry, and astringent than I would have expected.

12oz bottle from Gomer’s North in Parkville, MO. Pours crystal clear dark copper/amber with a finger of light beige head. Aroma is nothing but a caramel/sugary blast -- a little over the top! Flavor is similarly cloying, but with some depth from candy apples, a light citrus, and ... right, more caramel. Smooth and simple, thin body, but tasty in moderation.

bottle. Pours dark, slightly orange amber, with frothy off white head. Plenty of caramel on the aroma, with some pretzel and subtle nuts as well. Flavor is balanced, with enough to hops to impart a subtle bitterness. Initial flavor is caramel and hay with this subtle hop bittering, but the finish is kind of odd, leaving a chalky, dusty feel in the mouth, with tones of nuts. Not bad, but will not revisit.

[Bottle] Pours a bright amber color with no head. Sweet caramel and grainy nose. The taste is of sweet bready malts, grassy hops, mild hazelnut and a dry citrus finish. Better than expected mouthfeel is definitely a positive here. Prickly carbonation. Not bad for the style, but there is also not a ton happening here.

Pours a cloudy amber color. Aroma is fruity and sweet malt. Taste is grassy maltiness...notes of caramel, molasses and some hop bitterness. A bit on the watery side. This is just ok for me.

Bottle. Dark amber color with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly hoppy with roasty caramel malts coming through. Taste is nice and roasty, but not a lot going on here. Light body, thin, watery texture.

12 oz. Amber with not much of a head. Nose is faint caramel, orange and toast. Tastes of orange marmalade, pecan shell, and light resin. Light medium body is tingly and dryish.

Bottle. pour is copper and clear with a soapy head. Aroma is mild malt and some faint earthy scents. Taste is malty and carbonation with more gritty earth. Palate is gritty and sticky with a dry swallow. Pretty tasty brew.

There are so many beers out there, so many styles, and so many that I have tried. Not many stand out from the pack. This beer is good, but no exception to the rule.
