Tasted at the Triple Rock Sour and Barrel Aged Fest on 2/12/2011. This wild/sout ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity, sweet and tart. A medium bodied Sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, tart and funky. The hops are herbal and spicy. Mild carbonation. Touch of funk and tartness. Very drinkable beer, somewhere between a full on sour and a saison. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly tart.

On draft at Tap 25. I was impressed with this one. It pours dark red with an aroma of stone fruit and a little tart lemony funk. The flavor is the same with some lemon, funk and hints of barrel. I was told this was aged in a Chardonnay barrel, and you do get some hints of brighter fruit despite the dark color. The sour and funk are very subdued but pleasant and easy to drink. No saison yeast character at all.

draft at Tripel Rock/Jupiter Sour Sunday. shimmery sherry looking pour. Orangy St Joseph’s aspirin like aroma. Sweet flavor, minor funky barnyard, OJ & orange peel, not a lot of acidity tartness, vitamin C

On tap at Sour Sunday. Pours reddish copper with a thin beige head and a sour fruity aroma. There is also a sour fruity flavor with no carbonation. Not much like a saison, but still a very tasty brew.

Draft. Cloudy chestnut color, small tan head. Aroma of sour plums, raisins, brown bread. Taste is similar, with subtle lemon peel. Good stuff.

Tap at Sour Sunday. Pours brilliant but hazy blood orange. Sour fruity aroma. Med+ body. It is quite sour and fruity - cherry/citrus. Devolves into oaky barnyard. Nice stuff.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a clear orange am,ber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of sour citrus, sour cherries, straw, light barnyard and a hint of earthiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a tart finish. Flavors of straw, citrus, cherry, ligh barnyard and light earthiness with a crisp tart lingering funky finish.
