Bottle courtesy of beerandblues2, thank you sir! Fake gusher that made GT2 panic, hahaha. Clear and bright yellow, large white head. Aroma of straw and white pepper. Taste is slightly funky and grassy citrus. Not bad.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Capped 750 from Taylor’s Market in Sacramento, CA. Pours dirty hazy gold with a 3 finger creamy near-white head. Aroma is citrus and earthy. Med +body. Flavor is fruity, lightly noble spicey, and finishes with some discernible earthiness. Moderately bitter. Very flavorful saison that somehow eventually makes me think of a good tripel.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
2011 bottle marked as bottled on 5/16/11. Pours with a clear, deep golden body with a massive mousse of white head. Good lace. Aromas are peppery, grainy, grassy. Classic saison yeast character, phenols, light esters, a hint of citrus and acidity. Bready, toasty, straw malt profile. Flavors are a bit too sweet. On notes at first of cantaloupe and watermelon. Some dried nectarines, pepper. A bit too rich of a malt profile for a saison (reminds me more of a biere de garde). Some lemon verbena, lightly tart yeast character. Very lively carbonation. Some carbonic bite. Medium bodied.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle @ Ben and Greg’s apartment. 2011 vintage. Pours a somewhat hazy dark golden appearance with an off white head. Banana, apple, somewhat spicy, grassy aroma. Spritzy, somewhat bready, a bit oxidized, apple, lemon citrusy flavor. Probably should have drink a bit more fresh but not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
750mL 2011 ed thanks to Travlr. Pours a clearish orange with a decent white head leaving thick, sticky lace. Nose is floral hoppy, sweet orange, big green olive, salty pimento. Taste is sugary, old characters....tastes a lot like my first batch of saison homebrew: old lemon, celery, lemon tartness. Not bad. Too much celery for me. Tart, thinner palate. Moderate hoppiness. Not too bad.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750mL bottle. Poured clear, bright golden with a fairly short-lived white head. The aroma picked up lemon zest, cloves, and coriander with a little grains of paradise around there too.. soft honey-kissed pale base.. spices and wheat really led. The flavor found similar stuff.. tart wheat and lemon zest plus cloves and grains of paradise over a nondescript base.. tart, tangy, and spicy on the finish, with too much spicage to really be refreshing. Light-medium bodied with higher carbonation on the palate.. just a decent feel and flow.. OK brew.
