COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Trout Hop is brewed with Idaho 2-Row Brewers’ Malt and German specialty malts and has a deep, rich color and roasted finish without the thick and malty body that often accompanies dark beers. It is kettle hopped and dry hopped with Pacific Northwest hops, resulting in bold and intense bitterness and piney, zesty aroma. The full body and dry finish create a refreshing autumn ale, perfect for any crisp afternoon or cool evening. The spicy hopsof this ale complement rich, flavorful foods. Chocolate mole enchiladas, Indian and Thai curries, and barbeque ribs will accompany nicely.

A sweet thick sugary stout aroma. Very black in color. Quite roasty with a fair amount of hops but it just wasn’t working for me. May be done with style for awhile.

12 oz. bottle. It pours black with a tan head. The aroma has really nice chocolate and roast with intense piney and citrusy hops. Good balance of the two contrasting aromas. The flavor is the same. Nice chocolate and roasted malt with intense piney, woody, citrus hops. It finishes mostly bitter, but with some roasted coffee as well. A very nice Black IPA

Pours black with an aroma of coffee, malt , and some hops. Flavor is more like a hoppy porter. Not a lot of hops but has the sweetness and coffee flavor of a good porter with more hops. I enjoyed it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours a dark reddish black with an off white top. Nose is roasty and piney. Taste runs sweet to mildly bitter with notes of citrus and resin.

On draft at the brewery. Pours black with a tan head. Hoppy nose. Flavors of tobacco with vegetal notes. Bitter finish.

A great little back IPA. Pours a dark brown with milky mocha head. Aromas are pine and citrus. Bitter chocolate flavors with fresh green hop notes. Delicious.

Bottle. Pours a near black color with a moderate tan head on there. Nose is more grassy and floral than it is roasty, though I can get just a hint of some roasting in there. Taste is fairly bitter, though a more robust roasting is coming through underneath. Pretty decent, actually.

Poured from the 4-pack on clearance dated 12/19/13. Jet black with a nice tan collar, has all the visual qualities of a stout, but with more hops than malty sweetness in the taste. Strong yet easy drinking, and on sale, great buy.

supposedly 145 ibus, this is a dark, rich, monster of a beer that ended up being quite enjoyable, but again - overpriced. thick, resinous, with bright hop complexity and enough dark roasty malt to balance but not overpower. just a good beer all around."
