COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wake Up Call Imperial Coffee Porter has a distinct and robust coffee flavor that blends harmoniously with the roasted malts. Caramel, chocolate, and black malts give this ale its dark color and overtones of caramel and a cocoa-like sweetness. Only very gently hopped, the addition of coffee shines through, providing a delicious accent to this brew.

Bomber from Mike and Laura...thanks! Complex blend of coffee and chocolate malts...a little less profound than some but still very tasty.

bottle 8/30/11. oily appearance. orange tinted porter brown with a pale brown head which leaves some spotty lacing. coffee is all over the nose...wow! notes of roasty coffee, chocolate, wood, sour cream, ash , smoke, roast.... a nice porter base with a ton of coffee. flavors of cocoa nib and vanilla are noticed as it warms....caramel on the back end along with wood and a ’green’ thing from the coffee. really pleasant bitterness on the finish which lingers into the aftertaste along with ann amazing amount of coffee and it’s roastiness. it is smooth and creamy yet it is the bitterness which keeps me coming back. 8+/3/8/4/16

22 oz. bottle. Pours very dark brown, just about black, with clear edges when held against sunlight. Moderate-large tan head that fades after the first quarter of the glass and leaves light lace. The aroma is wonderful with ample fresh coffee along with a bit of cocoa and vanilla. Very nice. The flavor is roasted malt, with the roast being just a bit harsh, with some coffee as well. None of the cocoa or vanilla found in the aroma. Moderate coffee and roast bitterness at the finish.

Bomber. 9:30 PST. Pours dark brown, nearly black, with a thin tan head that produced good lacing. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, and hints of vanilla. Taste of coffee, caramel and chocolate malts. Well carbonated, sweet, and slight coffee bitterness on the back end.

Dark brown colour with off white head. Not hugely aromatic, but definitely coffee. Taste is sweet like a porter with a touch of coffee. Nice beer.

Bottled sample. Almost black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of freshly ground dark roast coffee, bourbon vanilla chocolates, and a touch of caramel malt. Strong coffee flavour upfront on the palate, backed by some elements of dark chocolate, sweetish malt, wet stones, and a hint of ash on the finish. Heavy bodied with a bit of char and acidity to balance the weight. Not up with the top tier coffee beers I’ve had, but very close too it. Good stuff.

750 ml bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting tan head. Aromas of coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of coffee, roasted malt and bakers cocoa with a smooth dry lingering coffee finish.
