COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Wake Up Call Imperial Coffee Porter has a distinct and robust coffee flavor that blends harmoniously with the roasted malts. Caramel, chocolate, and black malts give this ale its dark color and overtones of caramel and a cocoa-like sweetness. Only very gently hopped, the addition of coffee shines through, providing a delicious accent to this brew.

Bottle @ home. Deep brown appearance with a dark brown head. Robust, roasty, deep chocolate, a touch burnt malty, cocoa, roasty black coffee, light vanilla aroma. Soft velvety mouth feel. Roasty, somewhat bitter, dark roasted coffee, cocoa, toasted chocolate malty flavor with a moderately bitter coffee finish. Surprised that they didn’t make this a little stronger though it’s nice that not everyone is trying to maximize the booze in their beers.

Bottle… Midnight black ale with a mid-sized, lightly tanned head. Good retention. The nose supplies ample notes of espresso, cocoa and scorched malts with a subtle kiss of vanilla. Medium to full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. The flavor provides lots of coffee and cocoa layered upon caramel and tangy, bitter hops. Finishes nutty, then a touch tangy.
