COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Workhorse Wheat is an American-style hefeweizen (literally, yeast-wheat) ale made with Idaho barley and wheat. It is pale in color and light in body, smooth and easy drinking with just a hint of tartness from the wheat. Because is it not filtered, our workhorse wheat is slightly hazy with yeast, rich in B vitamins and other good things.

Unfiltered wheat? Doesn’t look like it. Pours a very very slight cloudy orange/red with a well formed white head which quickly deminishes. The nose is spicy lemon grass and wheat which is basically what it tastes like. Body is light to medium. Nothin’ to right home about!

Bottle. Pours a cloudy golden color with a decent white head that fades fast. Taste is of wheat, caramel and some malt. Is a little bitter, somewhat sweet and somewhat thin. A little on the watery side. Similar aroma. Not bad, but not the best wheat for the price.

TAP: hazy yellow pour, a pale wheat in every sense. Not much aroma, flat taste - nothing offesive, but nothing good either.

Tap at Colter Bay Village Ranchhouse. Took a lot of work to figure out what this even was. Pours a mostly filtered yellow with a small head. Grainy, damp, mild wheaty aroma. Spritzy, milky, light flavor, uncomplex but not especially bad. A very typical (and dull) American Wheat.

This hazy golden ale poured with a decent white head and a wheat aroma. The flavor is wheat with some lemon and a bitter finish. A decent wheat beer.

Bottle picked up in Jackson, Wyoming. Pours a clear orange with a small white head. The aroma is full of wheat and lemons. The taste is pretty simple; a nice strong grain and wheat aspect with some citrus zest. Smooth and easygoing. Not bad.

2008 Bottle - Pours translucent brown tan, small white head, aroma of hop flowers and wheat, this brew was more bitter than any wheat I’ve had (and I loved that). Otherwise a standard non-filtered wheat, drinks great without the fruit...
